Deerpath Woods
Hugging the coastline of the Gulf of Gartcha, the giant sequoias of these woods soak up the heavy, seasonal rains that come from both directions to grow to tremendous heights. Spaced between these giants are ferns, nettles, and other leafy bushes that feed the huge herds of spotted deer that give the forest its name. Songbirds and woodpeckers make their homes amongst the giants and fill the air with their melodies and odd rhythms. The outskirts of the forest are denser, packed with birch and elm and oak logged and used in ship construction in nearby Gartcha. The presence of these loggers has frightened away most predators, though at night one can still hear the occasional howls of the wolf packs that feed on the great herds.
