Gulf of Gartcha
The waters of this northwestern Tarien body of water are sheltered from the current that runs up the western side of the Prydith Peninsula, cutting it off from the flow of nutrients and fish that come up from the south. The result are waters that are deep, cold, and without many fish. While the settlements along its shores certainly fish here for what they can, most stay out for longer periods of time, heading for the Gulf's border with the Darsiac Ocean where great schools of tuna and other large fish are plentiful. This absence does, however, also mean a lack of predators, making it an ideal winter refuge for the whales of the Great North Sea and the come here by the hundreds to birth their young.
