Fifty years ago, wealthy forester Winton Duventiérre disappeared. The mayor and the town council ordered the building sealed shut and signs of "No Trespassing" installed. No living creature has entered or left the house since then. Locals claim to hear strange noises from the building from time to time and no one dares to approach it.
Winton Duventiérre owned a lot of logging land outside the town. He built this mansion here and became a leading citizen, being elected forester a record ten times. His disappearance was eventually ruled a death, although the town council never released any details of the ruling. His will was read, bequeathing his land to the town and 50gp to each citizen. His house was meant to go to any living relatives, but none could be found, so the council sealed the manor and forbade anyone from utilizing it. Over the years, it decayed through neglect. Some cornices and architectural details have collapsed.
The estate also has a
stable and a
mausoleum.
