The Runner family are longtime residents of the town. Widower Boltan Runner was a logger but was fired from his last jobs for being a drunk. He currently just sits at home drinking. His two sons Jade and Elliot work at the lumber mill. The whole family are supporters of Fergus, the previous forester.
