Like many other small, rural towns in the Commonwealth, Stagburn has a diarchy government structure. The elected
mayor oversees matters inside the town and immediately outside the remains of the city wall. An elected
forester manages the town's hinterland, particularly areas given over to forestry, hunting, and grazing. They are co-equal in power and have the legal ability to veto the decrees of the other.
The forester gets to live in this lodge outside the city wall while the mayor lives in a house near the
Green. Along with well-appointed living quarters it holds a meeting room and an auction hall.
Currently, Stagburn does not have a forester. The previous forester, Fergus, was run out of town. The village is holding a special election to appoint an interim forester. The lodge is sitting empty but locked.
