1 - The Oak and Dagger Inn

Written by Janto

The only tavern in Stagburn Dale Village. Owned and operated by its new proprietor, Symon.
Placed prominently at the north end of the main square in Stagburn Dale, this inn is an inviting structure with a spacious common room. A hanging sign outside its door shows a painted representation of the giant autumnal tree outside with a jeweled dagger stuck into its trunk. Alongside the main building is a stable where visitors can house their mounts and wagons.

History

The building is several hundred years old and was built in the early days of the human settlement. It has gone through many owners and several name changes over the centuries.   The current proprietor is a retired Tummarand adventurer named Symon Silverdirk who is also responsible to the latest tavern name change. Symon moved to the town a year ago with his husband Brom Berrin. He purchased the tavern and Mayor Hayward appointed Brom to the vacant position of Constable. Both actions caused ripples in the citizenry, and a schism in the mayor's support. Being Tummarand, Symon is generally treated fairly, and even the mayor's critics begrudgingly patronize the tavern. Symon can be very outspoken and brash and does not tolerate any unpleasantness in his establishment, but he also has a carefree attitude and an infectious laugh that makes the Oak and Dagger a welcoming place.

Personnel

Symon often tends the bar and serves patrons, always eager to share gossip and jokes. He's assisted in all duties by two elven employees, brother and sister Devin and Amber Slate. Their mother Estelle works as the inn's cook. Local youth Basil Mayjoy manages the stable for Symon.
