Federal Republic
The Federal Republic is one of the great powers of the galaxy, its military, economic power and political influence make it a major player in galactic affairs, it is this entity that represents humans within the galaxy. It is now considered to be the greatest power within the quadrant by a very slight margin, but its place is disputed by the Zelvan Council whose growing influence worries the Republic.
Structure
The Federal Republic or more commonly called the Republic, is organized around four levels of government which each have their specific competences but which generally take over the political structure of the federal government. The first is the federal level, which is headed by the President, the second are the sectoral levels, which are headed by governors, the third are the planetary levels, which are headed by intendants. Finally, the last levels are the municipal levels which are headed by mayors, another level which is approximately the equivalent of the municipal one called the settlements is also directed by mayors, the difference being that the latter depend on the sectors.
Culture
Since the population of the Republic represents all ethnicities on Earth, it is culturally extremely diverse. However, the greater proportion of certain ethnic groups within the population has favored the predominance of Asian, African and Middle Eastern cultures in the cultural and artistic fields. Western culture, on the other hand, has had a great influence on the political model of the Republic, which takes inspiration from Western political regimes before the Solar Confederation while bringing many modifications to it that make it much more democratic than these predecessors.
As for the mentalities, they are on their side much more uniform than the cultures within the Republic thanks to the education which about the same on all the territory. However, certain regional divisions, which obviously do not threaten the overall stability of the Republic, are present within its territory. The first being the split between the extreme south and the rest of the Republic, the inhabitants of this area are generally more independent from the central government. The other major divide is that between the centre and the north of the territory, the inhabitants of the centre being closer to the Earth and those of the North more attached to Aderia, the economic capital of the Republic.
Demography and Population
The Republic has a population of approximately 145 Billion inhabitants who are mainly close to the Sol System and in the north part of the Republic's territories unlike the southeast which is very sparsely populated. The most populous planet in the Republic is the ecumenopolis Aderia, which alone has 10.4 Billion inhabitants. Humans make up 100% of the population, Republic also has zelvans, kedeshis and myrrans permanent residents who are mainly diplomatic personnel in orbit of Earth. The morphological difference between different galaxy's species and humans is too great for these to immigrate permanently in the Republic. The government has adopted the six most widely spoken languages in the Republic as its official language, namely English, Mandarin, Arabic, French, Spanish and Standard Hindi. However, it is English that is most often used in state affairs and in public signage.
Society
The society of the Republic is very egalitarian, the policies of the federal government put a particular emphasis on this aspect with, for example, a minimum and maximum salary. Taxes are also designed to redistribute wealth from the biggest corporations and the highest paid citizens to redistribute it down in society. The federal government also pays each non-working citizen an amount of money called the Universal Republican Guaranteed Income, this one is approximately equivalent to the minimum wage. It is however modified if a citizen decides to practice a parallel activity that brings in money, his income is then subtracted from what the government gives him to know how much he will receive. The share of the population that has the right to this kind of income is approximately half of the workforce, which makes it a very important measure for the public.All these measures mean that, although gaps are present within society, they are not large enough to create different classes in the population. Republican society is one focused on the collective, education shows from childhood the importance of thinking about the common good and of getting involved in democratic governmental bodies as well as that of the workplace. It is an essential aspect of the society, economy and politics of the Republic since the functioning of these is largely based on collectivism. Mentalities are therefore deeply imbued with this principle, but it should be noted that society still attaches great importance to basic individual freedoms, the rule of law and human rights.

During this war which took place from 2520 to 2526, the Republic lost a total of eight systems and three colonies.
Military
Navy
The Navy is the space force of the Federal Republic, it is the most important branch in terms of equipment as well as personnel of the armed forces. The Navy is responsible of the defense of Republican space as well as its interests in the galaxy and carrying out offensive actions in times of war. It is this one that was most used throughout history by the Republic and its main tool for projecting its influence within the galaxy.
Marine Force
The Marine Force is the amphibious force of the Federal Republic, it is the fourth most important branch in terms of equipment and personnel of the armed forces. Unfortunately, in times of peace, this force is only partially used since it is mainly offensive and not defensive. This is why a good part of these soldiers are reservists who must carry out regular training to maintain a certain level and take up arms in the event of war. However, a permanent force is kept to deal with unforeseen events and achieved his defensive goals.
Air Force
The Air Force is the defensive air force of the Federal Republic, it is the third branch in terms of equipment as well as personnel within the armed forces and is responsible for the planetary air defense on fully colonized planet or moon. In this context, it has equipment to cope with many environments, in particular those stationed on planets or moons with low gravity which requires aircraft closer to spaceships. However, almost all celestial bodies under Air Force responsibility are habitable with standard gravity.
Army
The Army is the land force of the Federal Republic, it is the second most important branch in terms of equipment as well as personnel of the armed forces and is responsible for the planetary ground defense on fully colonized planet or moon. In this context, these soldiers are equipped and trained to deal with many environments, including those stationed on planets or moons that have uninhabitable or low gravity conditions. However, almost all celestial bodies under the responsibility of the Army are habitable with standard gravity.
Structure
The armed forces is directed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff who have under his command the four main branches, under him, the Special Forces Joint Staff who take care of all special forces within the armed forces. The Joint Chiefs of Staff is directed by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff which transmits the latest military news to the Supreme Chief of the armed forces who is the President of the Republic. The Department of Defense also has an important role because the Secretary of Defense is the President's adviser in everything related to the military. It also plays an intermediary role between the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the President when he cannot be there in person.
Technological Level
Modern medicine allows, thanks to genetic engineering, to eradicate genetic diseases because doctors can modify the DNA of the fetus before birth. Cancer is cured as easily as the common cold with the use of injections of nanorobots which remove cancer cells, which are then rejected by the body naturally, others can also be used to repare damage organs or body parts and little part of the DNA. Life expectancy is greatly expense beyound biological limit due to pills that replace cells that have been poorly copied by the body over time and bionic organs. Citizens also have access to holographic watches which give them their health status live. The communications and the diffusion of informations are done by the Republican Space Network (RSN).
It is a platform where citizens and news channels can deposit content on the events of the galaxy or on anything else. The development of artificial intelligence led to the replacement of human labor by robots in many fields which required little skill such as resource extraction, customer service and industrial production to name a few but some areas have been blocked with artificial intelligence to avoid destroying all jobs. The use of bionic prosthesis for the replacement of defective or damaged organ is widespread but the use of it is regulated. Scientific research is carried out by the private sector and by the diffenrent levels of government via the various research institutes which are located all over the Republic.
Religion
Even if the structures attached to it have long since disappeared, a small part of the population still practices the heirs of the old great religions. A larger part of the population practices new religions which are no longer so much focused on the belief in one or more gods, but acting more as philosophies of life for the faithful. Even if the majority of the population is officially atheist, for many religion has been replaced by their local community in which citizens must be involved because of the democratic functioning of society. Whether that of their apartment buildings, their work or their city whose citizens are generally very close.
Foreign Relations
The Republic has a good relationship with the Zelvan Concil and the Myrran Trade Union. These relations were cumulated in 2223 with the creation of an economic and military alliance to which the Myrran Trade Union joined in 2268 to created the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant. However, an economic and military rivalry is present between the Zelvan Council and the Federal Republic over the status of the predominant power within the Alliance after the Zelvan Council gained prestige by carrying out a successful intervention in the Continuation War.
The Holy Kingdom of Katho is a theocratic republic that has a had good relations with the Republic without being exceptional, despite this, trade takes place between the two entities. Even if it does not share a common border, the Republic maintains good relations with the Free Uriy Commonwealth because of the good relations it has with the Myrran Trade Union. The Onatach Empire is an empire that has a terrible relationship with the Republic which escalated into a war decades ago. From the first contact in 2227, only communications channels were established with this empire and the border, completely closed, the systems serving as an entry point into the Republic's territory being transformed into strongholds by the Navy after the start of the Cold War and even more so since the Western War.
The Qravadox Directorate and the Kingdom of the Houses of Youndarim are two empires that are the biggest rival of the Myrran Trade Union and the formation of an alliance between these two nations in 2441 to thwart influence of the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant further strained relations. However, even if the Republic takes this threat seriously and assures its support for the Union in the event of any hostile act, the distance means that there has never been any real contact between the two entities. Finally, the Endurga Stellar State is an empire that the Republic know is existence by the Holy Kingdom of Katho but since these are extremely distant and beyond the borders of the Republic, no formal contact has been established.
Economy
Framework
The economy of the Republic is a socialist one, that is to say, it places great emphasis on the redistribution of wealth and the rights of workers to govern themselves. The economy is regulated by three major organizations which are the government by two of its departments, that of the economy as well as the one of labor and employment and the Central Bank. The two federal departments are mainly responsible for setting up legal standards concerning labor law, but also concerning business management. As for the Central Bank, it is she who is mainly in charge of managing the currency of the Republic and many other things related to the republican financial system.

This sector is very important for the Republic because it is the basis of the economic activity of all the cities of the Republic. The sector of industry and trade represents economic activities related to all industrial activities as well as those related to transactions for the exchange of goods. Between the two, industry clearly occupies the largest share with fully automated production methods, it can produce all that the Republic needs. For trade, internal trade is the most important for the Republic, even if trade with its allies is not negligible. The construction sector represents economic activities related to the construction of buildings or infrastructures.
It includes construction companies as well as engineering firms and architects who develop the projects. The research and innovation sector represents scientific corporations, university laboratories and all economic activities related to technological development. For the more minor sectors, but which are no less important, these are agriculture, culture and tourism. The population therefore generally follows what is dictated and the very community culture of the Republic helps in the application of economic laws which fight against excessive wealth or possibly inappropriate conduct of corporations. The penalties for different offenses and the possibilities for parole vary greatly depending on the crime committed and by whom. They can range from simple fines to dissolution, a temporary ban on activities or placement under guardianship for legal entities and from short prison or light fines to life imprisonment with or without possibility of release.
Trade & Transport
Trade
The Republic's main trading partners are the Zelvan Council and the Myrran Trade Union, another part of the trade is with theHoly Kingdom of Katho. Goods transported within the Republic include several types of materials, including raw materials such as minerals, food and elements for nuclear fusion. There are also all processed materials which can be used in many fields such as household goods, planetary construction and the construction of civil and military vessels.
Interplanetary Transport
To move between the different systems of the Republic and other empires, the passenger and goods vessels use the different gates with the help of the Star Drive. These are artificial constructions acting as a sort of accelerator for the ships which activate their Star Drive creating a bubble, the latter subsequently increasing its speed phenomenally thanks to the gate. Inside systems, the vessels use the Star Drive which allows them to go to two hundred percent of the speed of light, which distort space time to accelerate the vessel. The government also set up Spatial Routes, they are more monitored routes and with more services within the Republic that pass through all important systems.
Planetary Transport
Between cities, the movement of people and goods is done by high-speed trains, these can go at a maximum speed of around 1000 km / h, this has been made possible by the development of trains operating in a hybrid way, on wheels when a train approaches a station or is traveling below 150 km / h and by magnetic levitation to reach its cruising speed. These were therefore installed on all the planets of the Republic, making it possible to link their most important cities. Transcontinental connections are provided by supersonic planes which connects cities on different continents which are generally well served by high-speed train lines.
In cities, the center of these are generally closed to vehicles, except for service vehicles, local deliveries and buses for the busiest routes as well as autonomous mini-buses which act as a sort of taxi. The first level of education is junior as well as senior high school which is mandatory and given to people between the ages of five and seventeen. Others are set up for planetary contexts with those in orbit which aim to make the link between spaceports in cities and space. Indeed, goods or passenger vessels need these two major infrastructures to be able to land and exit the vessel or unload their cargo. Some are also too heavy to be able to tear themselves away from the gravity of the planet, so they need the stations to moor which leads shuttles to bring their cargo or their passengers to the surface.
Military
The republic's armed forces rely on numerous facilities to be able to be operational, wether it's for operational or administrative purposes. First, the Navy uses a network of Starbase, which are located in planets' orbit, they are used as a point of defense, repair and refuel. Six of them, which are in orbit of the sectors' capital, are also homebases of the Navy's numbered fleets. Also, the Army, Air Force and Marines use planetary military bases to repair, store and maintain their vehicles.

The leglislative branch of the Federal Republic's governement is organized around a upper and lower house. The lower house is the Parliament of the Republic and is composed of 4,000 deputies representing approximatly 60 millions citizens. They are elected by universal suffrage for a four-year term with a maximum of four terms in their lifetime. Approves or rejects the proposals of the government, if this one is refused, they can propose amendments throught their parties and some deputies can propose law. May also vote on motions of symbolic significance proposed by the parties, they are generally used to indicate the opinion of the Parliament on a subject. The upper house is the Senate and is made up of 500 senators who represent approximately 288 million people in a sector, they are appointed by the President on the recommendation of the sector Parliament which elects a candidate from the three choices of the governor for a eight years term with a maximum of two in their lifetime, the sector which is concerned by the process is determined by the Federal Electoral Commission. Indeed, the number of senators allocated to each sector is determined by the Federal Electoral Commission. The role of the Senate is to exercise a supervisory role over the activities of Parliament, study draft laws to propose improvements and judge their constitutionality. However, it has more of an advisory role and can use his veto power on a bill solely on the pretext of its unconstitutionality or that it would violate the rights of citizens.
Judicial Body
The head of the Republican justice system is the Supreme Court, is located in Shanghai on Earth. In order for the cases to reach the Supreme Court, they first had to be appealed by the lower courts or to be of exclusive federal jurisdiction. Arrived at the federal level, the case will be presented to the court which suits him best. It orients foreign policy, heads the republican armed forces and can modify the constitution with the consent of the Senate and the population. The Vice-President direct the State Council composed of himself and the secretaries. The Vice-President draws up government budgets, appoints the secretaries as well as the General Secretary with the approval of the Office of the Federal Civil Service after a vote of confirmation at the Parliament of the Republic, ensures the link between the various secretaries and the President. The departments are also an important part of the executive apparatus because they manage the bureaucracy and take care of the public companies in many fields like transport, communications, and many others.
