Federal Republic

The Federal Republic is one of the great powers of the galaxy, its military, economic power and political influence make it a major player in galactic affairs, it is this entity that represents humans within the galaxy. It is now considered, by a very slight margin, to be the greatest power within the quadrant, but its place is disputed by the Zelvan Council, whose growing influence worries the Republic.

Structure

The Federal Republic or more commonly called the Republic, is organized around four levels of government which each have their specific competences but which generally take over the political structure of the federal government. The first is the federal level, which is headed by the President, the second are the sectoral levels, which are headed by governors, the third are the planetary levels, which are headed by intendants. Finally, the last levels are the municipal levels which are headed by mayors.

Culture

Since the population of the Republic represents all ethnicities on Earth, it is culturally extremely diverse. However, the greater proportion of certain ethnic groups within the population has favored the predominance of Asian, African and Middle Eastern cultures. Western culture, on the other hand, has had a great influence on the political model of the Republic, which takes inspiration from Western political regimes before the Solar Confederation while bringing many modifications to it that make it much more democratic than these predecessors.

As for the mentalities, they are on their side much more uniform than the cultures within the Republic thanks to the education which about the same on all the territory. However, certain regional divisions, which obviously do not threaten the overall stability of the Republic, are present within its territory. The first being the split between the extreme south and the rest of the Republic, the inhabitants of this area are generally more independent from the central government. Demography and Population

The Republic has a population of approximately 574 Billion inhabitants who are mainly in the northwestern portion of the Republic's territories unlike the southeast which is very sparsely populated where the sector of Javin is located, which is the least populated by the Republic. The most populous planet in the Republic is the ecumenopolis Aderia, which alone has 21.4 Billion inhabitants. Humans make up 100% of the population, Republic also has zelvans, kedeshis and myrrans permanent residents who are mainly diplomatic personnel on Earth. The morphological difference between different galaxy's species and humans is too great for these to immigrate permanently in the Republic. The government has adopted the six most widely spoken languages in the Republic as its official language, namely English, Mandarin, Arabic, French, Spanish and Standard Hindi. However, it is English that is most often used in state affairs and in public signage.

Society

The society of the Republic is very egalitarian, the policies of the federal government put a particular emphasis on this aspect with, for example, a minimum and maximum salary. Taxes are also designed to redistribute wealth from the biggest corporations and the highest paid citizens to redistribute it down in society. The federal government also pays each non-working citizen an amount of money called the Universal Republican Guaranteed Income, the amount approximately equivalent to the minimum wage. The amount received is however modified if a citizen decides to practice a parallel activity that brings in money, his income is then subtracted from what the government gives him to know how much he will receive. All these measures mean that, although gaps are present within society, they are not large enough to create a break between the different classes of the population. Republican society is one focused on the collective, education shows from childhood the importance of thinking about the common good and the importance of getting involved in democratic governmental bodies as well as that of the workplace. The Navy is the space branch of the military forces of the Republic and the most important in terms of men and equipment. The main goals are the defense of the Republic's border and planets, the transportation of military resources for supplies and carrying out military strikes in enemy territory during wartime.

Marine Corps

The Marine Corps are the ground invasion forces of the Republic, the soldiers of the Marine are able to face any type of environment and are reputed to be the best trained of the military forces. Their responsabilities are to invade enemy planets and reconquer Republican planets if enemy conquest occurs.

Air Force

The Air Force is the defensive air force of the Federal Republic, it is the third branch in terms of equipment and personnel within the armed forces. This branch will be particularly in the spotlight for its defense of Voga during the Western War where it will deliver heroic resistance, its pilots making sorties despite the air supremacy of the enemies.

Army

The Army is the second most important branch in terms of equipment and personnel of the armed forces and is responsible for the planetary ground defense, this branch is particularly known to the public thanks to these actions during the battle of Voga. It was during this battle that the Army forces on Voga withstood the invading Onatach forces about four months before a Republican counterattack freed Voga from the siege.

Structure

The armed forces is directed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff who have under his command the three main branches, under him, the Special Forces Joint Staff who take care of all special forces within the armed forces. The Joint Chiefs of Staff is directed by the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff which transmits the latest military news to the Supreme Chief of the armed forces, the President of the Republic. Religion

Even if the structures attached to it have long since disappeared, a small part of the population still practices the heirs of the old great religions. A larger part of the population practices new religions which are no longer so much focused on the belief in one or more gods, but acting more as philosophies of life for the faithful. Even if the majority of the population is officially atheist, for many religion has been replaced by their local community in which citizens must be involved because of the democratic functioning of society. Whether that of their apartment buildings, their work or their city whose citizens are generally very close.

Foreign Relations

The Republic has a good relationship with the Zelvan Concil and the Myrran Trade Union. These relations were cumulated in 2223 with the creation of an economic and military alliance to which the Myrran Trade Union joined in 2268 to created the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant. However, an economic and military rivalry is present between the Zelvan Council and the Federal Republic over the status of the predominant power within the Alliance after the Zelvan Council gained prestige by carrying out a successful intervention in the Continuation War.

The Holy Kingdom of Katho is a theocratic republic that has a had good relations with the Republic without being exceptional, despite this, trade takes place between the two entities. Even if it does not share a common border, the Republic maintains good relations with the Free Uriy Commonwealth because of the good relations it has with the Myrran Trade Union. The Onatach Empire is an empire that has a terrible relationship with the Republic and escalated into a war decades ago. From the first contact in 2227, all diplomatic relations were cut with this empire and the border, completely closed, the systems serving as an entry point into the Republic's territory being transformed into strongholds by the Navy since the first contact, even more since the Western War.

However, even if the Republic takes this threat seriously and assures its support for the Union in the event of any hostile act, the distance means that there has never been any real contact between the two entities. Finally, the Endurga Stellar State is an empire that the Republic know is existence by the Holy Kingdom of Katho but since these are extremely distant and beyond the borders of the Republic, no formal contact has been established.

Economy

Framework

The economy of the Republic is a socialist one, that is to say, it places great emphasis on the redistribution of wealth and the rights of workers to govern themselves. The economy is regulated by three major organizations which are the government by two of its departments, that of the economy as well as the department of labor and employment and the Republican Central Bank. The two federal departments are mainly responsible for setting up legal standards concerning labor law, but also concerning business management. The main infrastructures which allow the good functioning of the economy of the Republic are the planetary spaceport and the orbital stations. These make the link between space and the planets. Indeed, goods or passenger vessels need these two major infrastructures to be able to land and exit the vessel or unload their cargo. Some are also too heavy to be able to tear themselves away from the gravity of the planet, so they need the stations to moor which leads shuttles to bring their cargo or their passengers to the surface. The wormholes need to be stabilized with a huge ring that surrounds it and many stations are also built at their entrance so that the vessels can refuel and repair.

Military

The republicain's military forces rely on numerous facilities to be able to be operational.     Shortly after the foundation of the Solar Confederation, a majority of the member states was quite weak since they had just been created. Particularly the unions of the countries of the Earth, since everything had to be created and ten years were therefore necessary for these states to be truly stable with the creation of the main institutions. Even if the Martian countries were less affected by this problem since pre-existing to the confederation, reforms were still necessary with the additional latitude offered to them. Taking advantage of all this, a Martian independence group, which had become extremist after the most moderate left the group following the founding of the Confederation since they were satisfied with the latter, called the Martian Liberation Front, decided to take action to send a strong signal. Opposing any form of governance from Earth, they staged bombings in three symbolic locations. The second on the Moon, in the town of Inerba, near the monument under construction, commemorates the signing of the founding document of the Solar Confederation. Finally, a last on Mars in the city of Ashera, targeting the parliament of the Republic of Tharsis which was considered by the group as a traitor to Mars since having fiercely campaigned for the Confederation. The attacks will be rapid and brutal, causing a hundred and fifty-seven deaths in all, they will scandalize the solar system. Far from achieving their goal of destabilizing the Confederacy, the group was quickly neutralized by a joint federal investigation. The remnants of the independence movement would later distance themselves from the group by moving towards the legal route, but never succeed in truly winning over popular opinion.

However, knowing the serious military weaknesses of the Myrran Trade Union, the Qravadox Empire decided to invade Ungus to provoke the Union, having no choice to retaliate at the risk of losing face, the Union declared war which officially triggered it. The Qravadox Empire was little known to the Republic at the time, and its existence was only learned about a decade before war broke out, thanks to diplomatic relations with the myrran. From the first years, the war went very badly for the Union which did not have, at the time, any centralized military command which created a lack of coherence in the military maneuvers. The military fleets are under the responsibility of the large Myrran corporations which each manage a part of the myrran space. After three years of almost continuous defeat, the Myrran Trade Union's government began to coordinate Union military efforts to avoid a total fiasco with the creation of a line of defense to contain the enemy which was the Union's first success in the war. Blocking the advance of the Qravadox Empire and allowed the Union to regain some territory, it began to suffer heavy losses trying to break it which was a major factor in the acceptance of peace negociations with the Myrran Trade Union a year later. The Qravadox Empire therefore succeeded in achieving its war aims by taking part of its territory from the Union, but contenting itself with what it wanted since it did not wish to take the more inhabited territories which would be difficult to hold on the long term. After the war, the Myrran Trade Union set up a centralized military command which will be used in times of war, the rest of the time, the military forces are under the responsibility of the various megacorporations. Defeat was also going to be one of the main reasons for the Myrran Trade Union to create the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant with the Zelvan Council and the Federal Republic a few decades later, as the Union sought allies to ensure its security. The Qravadox Empire will also definitively take control of Ungus which it will transform into a naval production center using local labor.

    After several years of rapprochement with the Federal Republic and the Zelvan Council, initiated by the Myrran Trade Union which absolutely wants to find allies against its biggest rival, the Qravadox Empire. Finally, through the constant diplomatic efforts of the Myrran Trade Union with the Zelvan Council, the latter obtained the creation of the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant, heir to the old treaty which united the Federal Republic and the Zelvan Council. He supported the demands of the Myrran Trade Union because he saw the opportunity to increase its commercial power by becoming an inevitable point of transit between the Republic and Union when trade will inevitably increase. The Republic, for its part, accepted this Alliance, because it was looking for new commercial partners and to protect itself against the ambitions of the Onatachs Empire by forming a united block to face it. The creation of the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant will be marked by the signing of the new Alliance Charter on Aahli which sets up rules for all members of the Alliance with regard to its management, defense, trade, internal security or immigration.

    This attack will be perpetrated by a group of religious fanatics who reject any idea of space colonization, considering it blasphemous for humans to venture there. Indeed, space is, according to them, the residence of god and if humans continue to tread on it, it will trigger the apocalypse. Being ready to do anything to achieve their goal, their members, mainly people of combat age, will plan a terrorist attack in the solar system which will aim to prevent the transit out of it. Unfortunately for them, they will not have sufficient means to attack all the wormholes in the system, so they will focus on symbolic targets such as those towards Alpha Centauri and Adumir which were the first to be discovered by the Republic. Terrorists will fill ships with explosives and remote control them to detonate them near wormhole access points, both of which will send a cloud of debris nearby. This will damage several key infrastructures including the stabilization rings and cause damage or destruction of about sixty ships at the two wormholes. All this destruction will lead to the death of 6,256 people since several survival systems and several depressurizations will be caused by the very numerous debris. This attack, in addition to its human cost, will prevent transit for the two wormholes for several weeks. The group will then be dismantled by the NIA which will spot it thanks to the tracing of the purchases of explosives on the black market. The NIA will also begin to closely monitor known groups that may pose terrorist threats and neutralize them if necessary.

    This period marks a major constitutional reform of the Republic under the presidency of Carlos Perez. The latter will see the creation of two new order of government that are the sectors and the metropolitan areas to relieve the federal government. This reform was made necessary because of the expansion of the Republic therefore obliging the creation of an intermediate governmental level between the federal and planetary levels. Indeed, the Republic had reached a stage where it had too many planets for only the federal government to manage their problems. The creation of metropolitan areas are also made necessary to standardize planetary management and make it simpler. Another change is the removal of countries that had survived so far on Earth and Mars for the sake of stardartization. Indeed, the fact that these countries do not have the power of colonization and that they have been deprived of powers by the creation of the planetary order of government has taken away most of their political powers. In addition, except Earth and Mars, no other planets that have been colonized by the Republic have this additional order of government. This is satisfied with the planetary level which can delegate powers to cities. The creation of additional levels of government, namely sectors and metropolitan areas, would make this particularity of the Earth and Mars more handicapping than anything else. It is therefore decided to remove this level despite the opposition of these said countries, they can not do much because they are literally alone against all. Indeed, the Intendants of Earth and Mars are for this constitutional amendment to gain more powers as well as the Intendants of all other planets and the Republican rulers. These constitutional changes will finally make it possible to clearly establish the powers of the four orders of government that we know today. On the other hand, many agencies and registers were created during this period to ensure better administrative management of the Republic and ensure compliance with federal laws.

    Started twenty years earlier, the first megastructure project was completed in the year 2331. The main purpose of the latter was to extend the longevity of the sun and reduce its size to limit the sunshine that Venus received, it was already accomplished by orbiting mirrors around it, but the Republic hoped with this megastructure to make it permanent. Using the concept of the Stellar Engine, but with the difference that the energy produced will not be used to produce thrust, rather energy that will be harvested. In addition to the machine itself, three fixed solar stations were built to deflect sunlight on small areas of its surface and thus lift material which will be brought to the megastructure using electromagnetic fields. With the success of the megastructure, more will be built in other Republic systems that have stars more massive than the sun to stabilize them.

    This devastating civil war which lasted seven years and caused the death of at least 10% of the total population of the Holy Kingdom of Katho saw two opposing camps. The first with militias loyal to the government as well as the Republic which joined the central government after the destruction of one of a human vessel by the rebels. The second camp which was called the True Faith Restauration Front, which brought together several militias who had sworn loyalty to the leader of the rebellion as well as the personal army of this said leader. The rebellion quickly gained the upper hand and even managed to take Goz only two years after the start of the revolt on Bhelgmem. This success was possible, among other things, to the military genius of its leader as well as to the support onatach who wanted to weaken the Holy Kingdom of Katho and then appear as a savior by helping the government to put down the rebellion. This would allow him to gain influence within the Kingdom and thus compete with the Republic which also wanted to put this state in its zone of influence. After this defeat, what was left of the government had to flee to the north of the territory and decided to install a line of defense to prevent the rebels from advancing further. This situation remained more or less the same until the intervention of the Republic five years later which gave an undeniable advantage to the government. The President at the time wanted to intervene at the start of the war since the Republic had discovered the maneuvers of the onatachs and considered the Holy Kingdom of Katho under it's influence. In addition, he wanted to open the Holy Kingdom of Katho more to trade with the Republic to compete with the Zelvan Council and he intended to use this intervention to request trade guarantees in exchange for Republic's intervention. However, he knew that he probably did not have enough popular and political support, even within his own party, to get this intervention passed in the Senate. The Republic discovering that the onatachs were seriously beginning to consider an intervention, since he was already supporting the official government in his fight and negotiating with him on the terms of a possible intervention. To derail the negotiations, the government passed on information regarding onatach support to the rebels, which successfully prevented an onatach intervention. However, the official government, apart from categorically refusing any onatach intervention in retaliation, did not block the essential support sent to it by the Onatach Empire and did everything not to damage to much the relationship with it, the Kingdom not being able to do without trade with this entity. This greatly irritated the Republic, which had wished with this action to limit the relationship between the Holy Kingdom of Katho, but a new fear appeared for the Republican strategists, who feared that the onatachs would intervene anyways and then impose conditions on the Kingdom government. To change public opinion, the government had revealed all the information about Onatach interference to the public and the Senate shortly after not informing the Holy Kingdom of Katho. Thanks to this, during the year 2349, the federal government succeeded in having the Senate vote for military intervention. Negotiations with the Holy Kingdom of Katho on the intervention led to an agreement around the middle of the year 2350, the preparations of the Navy staggered until the beginning of 2351 when the intervention officially began. The intervention succeeded in defeating the majority of the forces of the rebellion as well as killing their leader in two week during three major battles which made it possible to reinstate the official government. However, rebel forces who managed to flee caused trouble for another couple of months before they were definitively defeated, officially ending the civil war. This war was the trigger of a cold war between the Republic and the Onatach Empire which combined with the Western War two hundred years later.

    After having formalized its intervention, the Republic sends the Expeditionary Fleet which aims to retake Goz and to cut off the access of the rebel forces to the south of the territory of the Holy Kingdom of Katho to prevent the forces heading for Goz from being caught in the rear. However, to achieve these goals, the Republic needed to seize two key planets, Xarti and Bhelgmem what the rebels had anticipated. Unfortunately, despite their preparations, these could not cope with the numerical and technological advantage of the Navy which defeated the rebels in orbit of Xarti in barely a day. It is however the planetary battle which was more difficult, the rebels opposed a strong resistance to the Marine who suffered important losses. However, cut off from supply, outnumbered, having no orbital support and no air support. They finally surrendered after three weeks of fighting, the Republican victory opening the road to the capital, Goz.

    With the fall of the rebel forces in orbit of Xarti, the Navy decided to launch the offensive on Bhelgmem and this, like in orbit of Xarti, easily won the victory. Unfortunately, it was on arriving on the ground that things went wrong, even before the invasion by the Republic, the rebels had made this planet their stronghold which posed a problem for the Marines who had to face even more fierce resistance. than on Xarti. This battle was the bloodiest of the conflict, there were terrible losses for both sides. The caves that housed the kedeshi cities had the particularity on this planet of being even deeper than on Xarti, which made it difficult to take them. Conducive to ambushes, the galleries that connected the different cities, neighborhoods or buildings were also without light since the kedeshis were guided by ultrasound. All these factors meant that this battle saw huge losses for the Republic who were fighting an enemy much more adapted to this environment than these soldiers. Fortunately, after approximatly one month of bloody fighting and with the help of local loyalist forces hiding from the rebels, the Republic finally managed to take the planet. This battle allowed the Republic to definitively block the rebels' access to the extreme south of the territory, preventing them from taking back the forces heading towards Goz.

    This battle marks the final defeat of the leader of the rebellion that agitated the Holy Kingdom of Katho for more than seven years. It pitted the rebel fleet against the Expeditionary Fleet and the militias loyal to the government. Being in crushing numerical inferiority, the rebels were completely anhilated during this battle even if some of the rebels managed to flee. They were subsequently arrested by loyalist forces during the year following the battle.

    A terrorist group seeking independence for the Espya sector from the Republic will take a ship and manage to get close enough to the surface to launch their ship at the building where the governor sits. The Republican Guard will attempt to take control of the ship, but the occupants will shut down the reactor to avoid this possibility and drop the ship in freefall while the terrorists parachute to the surface. Fortunately, the ship will be detected early enough to allow the evacuation of some of the people present in the building before the impact, particularly the governor. Unfortunately, this will not be enough to save everyone, indeed, the size of the ship and the fact that the Republican Guard preferred not to shoot it down at the risk of creating a rain of debris, which will generate a huge wave shock on impact. It will be partially absorbed by the building the ship was aiming for, but that won't stop it from being powerful enough to do some serious damage. Thanks to the partially carried out evacuation of the surroundings of the impact, the number of victims will be reduced, but the population density of the sector will very quickly increase the number of dead. In total, the attack will cause a total of 4,573 dead and several thousand wounded. Those responsible will be quickly found thanks to the tracking by the NIA of the energy signature and the origin of the minerals composing the artisanal parts of the ship.

    The Republic learned from reports from the Military Intelligence Agency that the Onatachs had militarized the border systems of Bax, Gossok, Ajam and Dretetis in response to the fortification of the Icheon system by the Republic, which created a shock wave within of the Republic. Indeed, these systems had been left as a buffer zone by the two powers during their meeting, even if one of the two powers had these systems, they had left them uninhabited and without significant military presence. The militarization of these systems provoked a reflection of the Republic which thought of fortifying these border systems to the north and colonizing several habitable planets within them to maintain a permanent presence. The start of the Uriy Independence War, however, relegated this idea to the background. The government decided all the same to transforming the buffer zone to the north into a military zone where the armed forces can train their troops as well as test their new equipment. The military presence was increased, but the main body of the troops sent were positioned in the populated areas of the north, that is to say in the heart of the Arkanis sector, away from the border, because there were no installations for support more staff in the military zone. Finally, the government definitively closed the border with the onatachs, no vessel or citizen of the Republic was allowed to cross it from that date.

    Having just begun the extensive exploration of its home system by the various nations that were present on the surface of the uriy home world. It was invaded by qravadox forces in 2255 which quickly subdued the planet. After more than sixteen years of qravadox domination, the different resistance movements present since the conquest rose at the same time to regain control of their planet. Taking advantage that the qravadox was occupied by a war with another unknown alien species. They quickly took the shipyards of their home planet which had been turned into a production center by the qravadox using the uriys as cheap labor. Supported in secret by the Myrrans Trade Union, which aimed to weaken by all possible means the Qravadox Empire which was beginning to gain power. These succeeded in containing the Qravadox forces at the borders of their native system, which made it possible to cut the Qravadox supply lines by isolating the territories south of their home planet. However, not having the military capacity to take all these territories, they were content to entrench themselves in their system of origin during the first year of the war. Jumping at the opportunity to destabilize their sworn enemy to whom they had never forgiven for the humiliating defeat they suffered in the Territorial War, the myrran did everything to intervene militarily. After the Ungus Crisis, officially declared war on the Qravadox Empire with the support of the Zelvan Council, officially to support the Uriy struggle for independence, but in effect to destabilize the Qravadox Empire. The Zelvan Council decided to support the Myrran Trade Union deeming the struggle of the uriys honorable and that they were unfairly attacked by the Qravadox Empire. In fact, the Zelvan Council took this opportunity to show its military prestige. The military caste which is still today is a very important faction within Zelvan society, also wanted war to gain prestige. After several major battles that took place in the Subtrianus, Kanadrius, Alcor, Courus and Iflillion systems, the Qravadox Empire surrendered. This one wanting to avoid a total disaster by losing all these forces and thus redirecting the remaining forces towards the front where his other war was taking place. The peace talks lead to a defeat of the Qravadox Empire which loses a significant portion of these territories in the south to the new state, the Free Uriy Commonwealth. This is a new independent state ruled by the uriys whose capital is Ungus, the home world of the uriys. This new state will quickly undergo internal dicension between the uriys and the qravadoxs present on the planets conquered by the Myrran Trade Union and the Zelvan Council. These tensions will lead to a terrible civil war which will tear this new state apart two years later. In the long term, the war resulted in a loss of influence from the Qravadox Empire in the south to the profile of the Zelvan Council and the Myrran Trade Union to a lesser extent. However, the Qravadox Empire recovered from its defeat in a hundred years by rebuilding its fleet, but the war discouraged this one from rubbing shoulders with the Alliance again as long as it did not have sufficient military power or new allies so that it recognized the Free Uriy Commonwealth even if relations between both entities are disastrous. The war also encouraged the Qravadox Empire to move closer to the Kingdom of the Houses of Youndarim which combined with the signing of the military cooperation treaty between the two entities two decades later. Finally, the effectiveness of the military forces of the Zelvan Council and his leadership in the coalition made him gain much influence within the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant which started to worry the Federal Republic.

    While the fighting had been raging for about a year in the Camthrin System, it was known by about a year by the public that the myrrans were helping the insurgents. However, the Republic didn't like it because they feared the Qravadox would declare war the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant, and the Republic didn't want to be drawn into a conflict deemed too far away and not worth it. In order to put an end to this support, this one added to the common text of the AAQ council of 2426 a declaration which stipulated that the Alliance did not wish to intervene in the war of independence uriy to avoid any tension with the Qravadox Empire. Unfortunately, the joint declaration was not accepted by the Myrran Trade Union and the Zelvan Council abstained from voting. Despite bitter negotiations, the Republic not wanting to withdraw this paragraph and the Myrran Trade Union not wanting to accept this declaration until the paragraph is withdrawn, these did not lead to anything. It was therefore the only time in the history of the AAQ council that a common text was not published after the meeting. After the council, the Myrran Trade Union unitedly declared its intervention in the Uriy War of Independence, which triggered an immediate reaction from the Republic. She was outraged by this action and declared that she was not going to support the military actions of the Myrran Trade Union who was still afraid that the Qravadox Empire would declare war on all Alliance members which would force them to intervene. The Zelvan Council did not take a position on the issue which prevented the Republic from exerting enough pressure on the Myrran Trade Union to make it give up. The situation worsened when, shortly after, the foreign affairs adviser declared that the Zelvan Council will going to support the Myrran Trade Union militarily which definitely prevents the Republic from doing anything. The Republic being diplomatically isolated within the AAQ by its pacifist position vis-à-vis the conflict, it could only be a witness when the myrran officially launched their offensive a few weeks later. However, seeing that the Qravadox Empire had no intention of declaring war on the Republic, the latter ceased to condemn the military intervention of the Myrran Trade Union. The Republic will succeed in re-establishing good relations with the members of the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant a few years after the war, but the growing influence of the Zelvan Council within it will make the Republic adopt a competitive attitude, it will try by all means to reduce this influence. The zelvans will retain from all this a feeling of frustration, which has led to the stereotype that humans are a cowardly species.

    After the surrender of the Qravadox Empire, peace negotiations led to the creation of a new state between the Qravadox Empire and the Myrran Trade Union. This state also made it possible to respond to the aspirations of independence of the Uriys who were placed at the head of this new state which took Ungus as its capital, the native world of the Uriys. However, the reattachment of many territories with former Qravadox settlements where this population was the majority quickly led to tensions. These populations do not want to be under the control of a territory ruled by uriys and considering this government as illegitimate since installed by the victors of the war. These factors threatened, from the first months after its founding, the very existence of this new entity.

    This civil war is the confrontation between on the one hand, the army loyal to the new government put in place after the Continuation War supported by the Myrran Trade Union. On the other, the Qravadox rebel forces seeking to free themselves from this new government which it deems illegitimate to be led by a former general of the Qravadox Empire. The trigger came from several factors, the first being the feeling of humiliation of the Qravadoxs who had taken very badly the defeat of their former homeland and their incorporation into the Free Uriy Commonwealth which they did not accept. Second, the uriys, after suffering decades of violence from the qravadox, harbored a feeling of revenge that created a very strong division between their two species. Third, the new government decided to rename the planets passed under its control to show its authority, this would have the effect of making the qravadox populations of these planets very pissed off, these being attached to the names of their planets. Fourth, politicians implemented several migration policies that aimed to bring uriys to the southern planets to relieve Ungus who was very populous at the time. Indeed, the Qravadox Empire prohibited the uriys from leaving their home planet which led to overpopulation on Ungus, one of the major factors that triggered the revolt. The planets of the south only had qravadoxs which increased the already very strong racial tensions when uriys population arrive. The event that will set fire to the powder is an attack organized by a supremacist group uriy considered as terrorist, the attack will make a dozen dead qravadoxs. Immediately after, demonstrations will break out, turning into violent riots and finally into urban warfare after a week. Leading the rebellion, a former general of the Qravadox Empire managed to assemble a little fleet with civilian ships which they armed with stocks from the Qravadox Empire. This general succeeded in gathering under his banner the forces of the planets known today like Gegeporia, Kleggebore and Ugglog which he assembled for a small fleet. His military genius enabled him to win the Battle of Kanadrius against inexperienced government forces. Unfortunately for him, being cut off from Qravadox support due to his galactic position, he could not hold out for the long haul. After a year of fighting, the trend began to reverse thanks to the support of the Zelvan Council as well as to a lesser extent that of the Myrran Trade Union in expertise and equipments. Thanks to new tactics and commands which had gained experience from numerous skirmishes, the government was able to launch a widespread counterattack. After the rebels defeated at the Battle of Ugglog which saw the destruction or redemption of all rebel navy, the rebel forces disintegrated.     Shortly before the Continuation War, another war broke out between the Kingdom of the Houses of Youndarim and another unknown species over different territories and trades. The Unknown Species first gained the upper hand and the Qravadox Empire decided to join the war alongside the Kingdom since they could not let the frontier territories of the Kingdom fall into the hands of the Unknown Species. It was when the Qravadox Empire began to send these forces to join the war that the uriy revolted and the events of the Uriy Independence War began resulting in the military intervention of the Myrran Trade Union and the Zelvan Council. This was catastrophic for the Qravadox Empire which did not understand how to fight on two fronts. After a few years of trying to hold back the enemy advance of the Allied forces as best they could, he decided to capitulate to concentrate entirely on the war with the unknown species. When peace was officially signed, he was then able to refocus all these forces towards the front of his other war. Thanks to several victorious counter-attacks from the Qravadox Empire and the Kingdom of the Houses of Youndarim, the two allies succeeded in bringing the unknown species to surrender. After the war, the two nations decided to begin negotiating a military agreement to counter the influence of the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant, which had grown considerably after the Uriy Independence War. The treaty who was signed after the negociation include the Qravadox Empire and the Kingdom of the Houses of Youndarim, stipulates that if one of the signatories is attacked, the other signatory must come to their aid. The other clause states that if one of the signatories wants to go to war, the other signatory must also go to war with their consent. This treaty will profoundly change the geopolitical landscape of the eastern part of the galaxy. The Myrran Trade Union, again feeling threatened by this new alliance will begin to fortify its border systems and slightly increasing customs tariffs in retaliation. However, the Myrran Trade Union was unwilling to attack this alliance for fear of losing what it had achieved so far and the new alliance not daring to attack the Alliance of Alpha Quadrant for fear of its military might. This will lead to the start of an economic war between the two rivals which continues today.

    Colonization in the south

    During the Continuation War and a few decades after, the question of the colonization of the south faded into the background and the government lost interest in the matter. However, the government seeing the growing commercial power of the Zelvan Council, decided to relaunch the project to compete with the latter. Additionally, through agents stationed within Holy Kingdom of Katho, the NIA had learned that it was very likely that the onatachs had increased their military capabilities. The government therefore considered colonization as a means of ensuring a larger permanent military presence. What definitively convinced the government to launch the project was the massive support for the project of the business community which wanted to profit from the boom in economic activity of a possible colonization. The governor of the Arkanis sector was also a strong supporter of the project, as it wanted to increase the flow of goods passing through his sector to boost the economy. Finally, a psychological factor also came into play, the successful intervention during the Prophets War gave humanity confidence in its defense capabilities. This reduced these fears about the onatachs, since the politicians and the population thought that in the event of an attack, they would know how to defend themselves. All these factors made that the Senate approved, at the end of the year 2462, the plan of the government for the colonization in the south. The implementation of the plan will however take about three years, the first settlers setting foot on the new colonizable planets about eight years after the approval of the Senate.

    To ensure a permanent presence in this sector of its space as well as to develop trade in the north. The Republic had begun colonization, thirty years earlier the colonization of several planets being located to the east of the Arkanis Sector and close to the Onatach border. However, the Republic was unaware that the onatachs discovered this some 20 years after colonization. As they could not bear this additional affront and being a militaristic species, the onatach government launched preparations for a surprise attack on the newly colonized area. The Republic, on the other hand, had never taken very seriously the threat of an onatach's invasion, because even if they were hostile to the Republic, they had never really provoked it militarily. This is why the defense of this newly colonized area was quite weak, the bulk of the military forces being positioned around Voga, which was in fact a much important planet than the newly colonized one. Unfortunately, that was when the onatachs decided to attack in 2520 with all their might. They began by attacking the weak defenses of the border systems which, taken completely by surprise, fell at lightning speed. The Republic, underestimating the Onatach forces, organized an orbiting defense of Ferdera, but they were completely overwhelmed by the Onatach firepower and the battle was a crushing defeat for the Republic. The onatachs then moved towards Voga and once again succeeded in defeating the orbiting defenses, but fierce resistance on the ground blocked the invading fleet in Voga's orbit. This gave precious time to the Republic who organized a counterattack a few months later which destroyed a good part of the invading Onatach fleet in orbit of Voga which allowed them to reconquer the planet. Taking advantage of their momentum, the Republic reorganized the fleet after the victory over Voga and launched an assault on the rest of the occupied territories. Their attempt was successful as far as the Trujila system, where the planet Ferdera is located. The Republican forces initially succeeded in defeating the Onatach forces in orbit and even went on to recapture the planetary capital with their ground forces. However, this was short-lived as the Onatach counter-attack took the Republican forces by surprise which forced them to retreat to the Stenlar system where a status quo took place. The two belligerents failing to break through the other's line of defense. New attempt by the onatachs to break through the Republic front line on August 15, 2523, the Battle of Icheon will end after four days in defeat for the onatachs whose momentum will be broken.     First Battle of Ferdera

    Minor battle that saw the defeat of the Republic against the Onatach's invasion fleet, the battle lasted about a day. This defeat was a huge shock for the Navy, which had not really taken the measure of the threat until the battle, mainly because of the little information that it had gathered until. The advance had indeed been so rapid that few elements of the Republican armed forces had managed to flee and reported reliable information on the Onatachs. The Navy therefore underestimated the size of the Onatachs forces and hesitated to send part of their force guarding Voga, the result being the sending of reinforcements in small quantity without being minor. This had catastrophic results in the course of the war, as the forces in Ferdera's orbit were not strong enough to stop the onatachs. Despite their inevitable defeat, Rear Admiral Aasiya Kusari will receive the post-mortem Medal of Honor for his heroic defense which gave enough time to evacuate some of the civilians. In addition, since the reinforcements sent were still equivalent to one division, this reduced the forces present in Voga's orbit which were not, there too, not large enough to slow down the onatach advance. The defeat was a cold shower for the Navy who attempted to send reinforcements into Voga orbit, but the onatachs outstripped the Republic.

    A major battle of the war, this battle spanned six months and caused a very large number of victims, both civilian and military. The battle began with the attack of the onatach fleet of Republic forces in orbit, the onatachs emerged victorious thanks to their numerical superiority acquired thanks to their victory over Ferdera where they destroyed Republic forces moved from Voga to Ferdera had taken positions. The survivors of the battle regrouped in the neighboring system to impose desperate resistance. The victory at Chemekia and the heroic resistance of the Army on Voga restored morale among the troops of the Republican Armed Forces which decided to accelerate the preparations for the reconquest of the lost territories, particularly the planet Voga which was the main objective. After two months of preparations, the assault was finally launched on December 28, 2520 and the Home Fleet launched an assault on Voga led by the Vice-Admiral Oumar Bepanda. In numerical disadvantage, far from their native territory which caused a bad supply, exhausted by the fighting on the surface and demoralized by the defeat on Chiemeka, the onatachs were crashed in orbit. This battle was a turning point in the war, almost the entire invading fleet was wiped out and the survivors fled to Wulima to organize a defense. Left without air support by their fleet, the Onatachs on the surface resisted, but were finally defeated after three weeks of bitter fighting. The Republic will eventually push their momentum and succeed in advancing to Ferdera, but will have to retreat after the Second Battle of Ferdera.
