Session 44: Aquos Upper Vault Part 1

We started right outside the trial. Crestin quickly discovered that the water was extremely clean and he took a few large drinks. I'm more of a magically filtered water kind of person, but I get it. We entered the vault and made our way towards an upwards waterfall that was about 400 feet high. Normally a bit off putting, but we've seen weirder shit in these trials. Crestin discovered pretty quickly that by touching the wall you could adhere yourself to it. If you were able to move away from the wall, there was a major gust of air coming down. Looks like if someone were to fall it would be pretty deadly from even a short distance. The group all made their way to the waterfall and we started climbing upwards.
As we ascended, our path become blocked by some very aggressive earth elementals. We cleared the first wave pretty easily, but as we continued climbing we encountered more waves of these elementals. Made for a really, really difficult fight. A few of us went down, but we somehow made it up after burning a lot of abilities, spells, and ammo. We decided once we made it to the top that we would long rest. Thank the gods for the long rest, I took some major hits, as did Ephraim, Crestin, and Jean.
 
Feels weird resting inside the trial for a long period of time. I think this is the first time we've done this. Maybe I'm supposed to reflect on water or something. I will say the water flowing in the distance is pretty relaxing now that our mettle is not being tested.
In other not trial news, Siona past her exams and is now working on her field study being approved. Sounds like she is looking to join us. A lot of me is really excited to have her join us, but after what we just faced? Part of me is also scared. I know she can clearly take care of herself, hell she saved me from stepping on the wrong plant a few times in the jungle. I just don't want to be the reason she is put in danger.
Part of me also realizes she is her own person and is going to do what she damn well pleases. That is one of the many reasons I can't wait to marry her.
