Session 103: Tectan Deep Vault Part 4

We continued our fight with Mannie in the room filled with lava. It didn't take long after Rahlak destroyed most of the rubies before our entire party surrounded Mannie. This gave us a bit of an advantage with the mega-lythons because they tried their best not to hit Mannie with anything, which slowed their major attacks. Norhm and I really focused hard on using the tectan word to our advantage, while Rahlak and Crestin focused on Mannie and enemies within our range. Mannie hit like a truck many times and if it wasn't for some lucky countering from both script and magic we would have been in a much worse situation. Rahlak did his best to take over Mannie and it looked like he had much more success than before, while I attempted to assist him. This gave Crestin a clear opening to try and carve Mannie up which proved to be extremely useful. After a few brief moments, the ash settled, and we came out victorious over middle aged earth. With that, we quickly discovered we gained a massive amount of control over the lythons in any form. Rahlak used them to create an armor for himself, while the rest of us commanded them to build a shelter for us to rest. After a short chat, I called on Mannie to join us one last time before we move forward with the trial. Not knowing how this may change things between us, or we may just die, it was a nice time to just relax within the lava and not worry about things for an evening. For tomorrow, we attempt to close this trial out.
