While exploring lake Bart with our new Dragon turtle friend we collected a few more samples of plants and local flora. It was nice to be able to get a good feeling for how much lake Bart is more of a wetland and less of a lake, but I'm not going to be the person that tells the king that. We traveled for a couple days making sure we had everything mapped out. Eventually we spoke with Kalinth and got a meeting spot. He told us it would be a day of travel; I said fuck that, and twin polymorphed Crestin and Norhm and we flew our asses there in a couple hours. Eventually Kalinth caught up and we gave him the fish items he needed and in return Norhm got some hair from the person that betrayed him. Kalinth also informed us that there was a call for help from the Merfolk at Mutumboway. We asked him if he knew more about it, but Kalinth said he didn't. We thought for a second on how to best get there and I remembered that the coral they gave us came directly from the throne room and that it would make a great teleportation item. Soooo we got to teleport for the first time. Felt nice, everyone has the correct amount of fingers and toes which is always good. Upon entering the merfolk territory we knew something was off. After some questioning we learned that Zirt's group attacked and killed Vertikay and one of Zirt's teammates took her head as a trophy. Not going to lie, I figured that would have been Volsaid pulling some shit like that. We had the evening to ponder and figure out next steps. The next morning we teleported to Fiddletown and met with McDuffey immediately. Told him about Lake Bart, about the lower vault, and also warned him about Zirt and his group. This makes me very uneasy to travel north and in our fashion we are ripping that band-aid off and teleporting there tomorrow. After meeting with McDuffey, we went and bought 1,000 pounds of cocoa and the group split up to take the afternoon/evening off with plans of meeting early tomorrow. Siona and I went over to buy a copy of Ephraim's tale. Turns out he is a really good writer, so much so that I got spotted almost immediately and now I've got a group of people following me. I signed a bunch of copies for the local bard who was selling them. She asked a couple questions about the validity of the events and I let her know how true things were and that we were still working on vaults/ adventuring type shit. After that, Siona and I went over the Hag with the bards and she got to jam with them. I was looking forward to settling down and relaxing, but a couple of people noticed me and wanted to chat me up. I humored them but was very thankful when the bards took over. I enjoy that our story is being told, but I'm not overly excited about being a public figure. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. The good news is our story is outselling Volsaid's. Which is something that will help take my mind off of what may happen once we teleport north tomorrow.
