We started with a jolt. Crestin got hit with a huge bolt of lightning and we were falling very quickly. Good news is we handled it well and landed without a lot of issue. We went back down the mountain to a more "safe" resting space. Decided to take the night off and come back with a bit more stealth in the morning. Over the night, Norhm's mutation got a bit worse which caused him to take off his armor. Not a great situation, but also something we knew could happen. In the morning we all decided to test our luck with a few more beans. Crestin hit the jackpot and all of a sudden we got resistance to lightning damage. We went back up the mountain with a lot more stealth and really got the jump on the guardians above us. After a few back and forths, some massive spells, the guardians relented to us. Which felt really weird. We've been fighting and "killing" so many guardians that I just expected for that to be the norm. Turns out these giants chose to defend this trial, but may actually die. We went from being combat with them to actually learning more about them. Turns out they collect star related data over the thousands of years they have been around. Was really interesting to see the changes from room to room. We asked a bit about the past, seeing if they knew about the mist, but turns out they didn't. We asked about the gem Norhm was looking for and they said they had one on hand they could give us. Nice group once you get past the fact they tried to kill us on approach. Eventually after some long discussions we made it before the entrance of our next trial.
