Prodigious Girl |
Chris Patterson was an ordinary teen until one day he got superpowers by running headlong into a tree. (It's a long story.) But in his quest to get a cooler name and circumvent the Superhero Registration system, he ended up sidekicking to Prodigy as the superheroine Prodigious Girl! See: Prodigious Girl |
Bhramari |
A teenage superheroine with the ability to control insects, Bhramari has been a frequent partner alongside Prodigious Girl and Enchantrix. See: Bhramari |
Enchantrix |
A young heroine with a dark past, Enchantrix is one of Prodigious Girl's best friends, and fights by her side. As the daughter of the archvillainess Rhiannon Blackwood--and having done some awful deeds of her own in the past--Enchantrix is looking to atone for her misdeeds, and put her past behind her. See: Enchantrix |
Prodigy |
Prodigious Girl's cantankerous mentor, Prodigy has been in the superhero life since he was a teenager, acting as the (non-powered) "sidekick" to the Liberty Squadron, and accompanying them on missions. Now, many years later, and having experienced a good deal of tragedy and loss in his personal life, Prodigy has become much more cynical. Although time will tell if his new sidekick's idealism will rub off on him. See: Prodigy |
Caleb Shapiro |
Chris's best friend and a staunch supporter, Caleb has been helping Chris out with his superheroing ever since he got his powers. He was also the one to suggest the scheme for Chris to try and trick Prodigy out of his hero name by becoming Prodigious Girl, although he's not to quick to remind Chris of that. Although Caleb doesn't have powers of his own, he helps out where he can...including an outing as the heroine known as Hissyfit! See: Caleb Shapiro, Hissyfit |

Promethean |
Leader of the Liberty Squadron. He has been a member since the team was founded over 30 years ago. See: Promethean |
Arcturus |
Implied to be a "dark defender of the night" style hero, one who apparently has a connection to the Revenants gang in his backstory. Prodigy has a beef with Arcturus, claiming that Arcturus "wants to save the world, but only if he's the one who gets to do it." Prodigy also has a standing rule stating that, "Arcturus is such a tremendous asshole that it is grammatically incorrect to refer to him without using the word 'asshole' at least twice in the same sentence." At the end of Identity Crisis, Quasarblaze notes that he is now Arcturus's sidekick. (It's unclear if QB's Prodigy noted that there is some connection between Arcturus and the Revenants. While looking at the dossiers collected by Chase, Xenos deduced that Arcturus is in fact two
Show spoiler
Assuming Xenos is correct, it seems that Prodigy is aware of the two men's shared identity.
In light of this new information, his "asshole, asshole" standing rule when referring to Arcturus makes it likely that he's saying "asshole, asshole," to indicate both men. Equipment: Drives The Astromobile. |
Ephemeral |
Mentioned in passing as having been involved with the fight against the Attraxi Genie, who swapped the teams' heads on their bodies. Promethean and Ephemeral swapped heads. A stripper at Unmasked dresses (or dressed) as Ephemeral. |
Tinsel |
Suggested that she is "a walking billboard for herself, selling technology to the highest bidder." Sells a line of overpriced high-end makeup products for impressionable girls trying to emulate a celebrity superhero. Also famous for her choco-nut brownies. :) HeroBurger Menu Item: Tinsel Tots |
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSIn addition to the full members, the Liberty Squadron boasts a number of associate
members. These members may serve in a adjunct capacity, or because of a close connection to one of the members. |
Kid Promethean |
Sidekick of Promethean. |
Marty Maddox |
Marty was a "kid sidekick" to the team in his youth. Although no longer actively adventuring, he still occasionally advises and supports the team from time to time. See: Prodigy |
OverC/R |
The AI who helps to run the Liberty Squadron's base, including its defenses. Generally appears as a smartly dressed businesswoman. |
Prodigy |
Although formerly a full member, Prodigy's occasionally extralegal methods became an awkward embarrassment to the team, and he broke off contact. Unofficially, he still works with the Liberty Squadron from time to time, usually when it suits him. See: Prodigy |
Promethea |
A female clone of Promethean created by Doctor Malevolence who tried to use her against the hero until she broke free of his control. She's not quite as powerful as Promethean, but has all of his powers, including strength, invulnerability, flight, and laser vision. Although she's considered to be part of the "Promethean Family" of heroes, Promethean apparently has some aversion to clones, so it's unlikely she would be a full member of the team. Instead, she's likely afforded the same consideration as his sidekicks as an associate member. |
PrometheLad |
Sidekick of Promethean. |
Quasarblaze |
Sidekick of Arcturus. See: Quasarblaze |
Triggerhappy |
Sidekick of Arcturus. (Unconfirmed, but possible given his close connection to Quasarblaze.) See: Triggerhappy |

Master Chin |
Wizened mentor of the chinchillas, Master Chin has light gray fur and uses a walking stick. However, some believe his infirmity to be a ruse, and that he is actually more dangerous than he appears. Though he would rather find non-violent solutions to his problems. Status: Active |
Captain Chinchilla ("Cap") |
Field leader of the team, the black furred chinchilla uses a sword and shield which may have magical properties. He's an adept fighter and looks out for his team, but he's given to melodrama. Status: Active |

Not active with the team. May have been adopted into a family. Status: Inactive |

Star Chinchilla |
Chilla is a russet-furred chinchilla who wears a gold sash (formerly green). Playful and impish, her formidable telekinetic abilities were significantly increased by Angelfish of the AquaFish, increasing her abilities to seemingly godlike levels through The Power Cosmic. Status: Active |
Wonder Chinchilla |
A white furred chinchilla with metal bracelets and a little tiara, but don't let her sweet exterior fool you. She's a no-nonsense fighter and sensible thinker, a cool-headed counterbalance to SaberChin's temper and ferocity. Status: Active |

Goldfish-1 |
The young, headstrong leader of the AquaFish, Goldfish-1 is a mighty warrior who wields a magic blade that can be used for a variety of magical effects, most notably to signal the team for aid, or calling in a magical school of fish to attack their enemies. |
Angelfish |
Graceful and deadly, the lithe Angelfish has psychic powers she can use in various ways. It was her meddling that somehow accidentally unlocked the seemingly limitless power of the Star Chinchilla. |
Bettafish |
A formidable hand-to-hand opponent, capable of holding his own against even the fiercest foes with his martial arts. Bettafish is also a master mechanic, responsible for maintaining the team's equipment, including the AquaTank. |

The enigmatic Ghost Shimp is a wise counsel for the impetuous GoldFish-1 and a gifted hand-to-hand fighter in his own right. Quick and nimble, he is capable of turning himself invisible. |

Other Petco Denizens |
Doctor Frog |
This diminutive poison dart frog is a creature of pure evil, wishing nothing less than the total hegemonic domination of the entire Petco and the destruction of any servants of good who would oppose him, including both The League of Chinchillas and the astonishing AquaFish. Possessed of dark magic abilities which he hones in his evil swampy terrarium, he can even shapeshift and take many forms, including that of his enemies. (Though usually the female ones, Angelfish has noted.) |
Insolent Cur |
Loyal servant of the evil Doctor Frog, Insolent Cur is actually surprisingly easygoing, good-natured, and polite. He enjoys being a part of the goings-on, although he's easily distracted when playing with the other puppies. |
Professor Budgie |
A new threat emerging within the Petco, Professor Budgie seeks to destroy the heroes by using his mad genius against them. Seeking for Petco to "go to the birds," he apparently appreciates Chilla's new power as the Star Chinchilla, and intends to use it against the chinchillas. |
Cecil |
Another one of the birds, and apparently a loyal supporter of Professor Budgie. |

An identity that Harridan (and later, Prodigy) used to infiltrate The Sanctuary. It's unclear if Candy Scrapper is an actual heroine, or just a fabricated cover identity. See: Candy Scrapper |
Electro Lass |
Electrical energy projector. Was stunned into unconsciousness when immersed in water. Wore a ridiculously skimpy costume that made her look like a stripper. Fought PG and Trixie. |

PG's teen ally and teleporting sorceress. See: Enchantrix |

A hero who registered about the same time as PG. Went on to have a long and illustrious career. Affiliations: Knights Errant |
Astral |
A hero who is said to have died while protecting people during the Manichean Invasion many years before. Has a bridge named after them. Status: Deceased |
The Atomic Slime |
Ill-fated hero who has become a cautionary tale in a children's book popular among parents teaching their children the dangers of being around superheroes. He wields the Cosmic Bracelet, a gaudy piece of jewelry which gave him powers, but also turned him into a sentient puddle of slime. He now dispenses two-fisted justice with his lightning-quick pseudopods, but it's heavily implied he'd probably be happier if he'd made a different choice that fateful day. Status: Active Real Name: Sidney Stiles |
Attraxi Genie |
A villain who fought the The Liberty Squadron and swapped everyone's heads around, presumably using magic. Promethean is credited for defeating them while having his head on Ephemeral's body. |
Battlecrab |
An aquatic-themed villain. |
Beguiler |
According to Chris, "a total ho skank" who dresses extremely provocatively in a skimpy costume for shock value. Crude and blunt. Has illusory powers which she uses for creating erotic fantasies in the minds of her sexual partners, in exchange for money. She's had some brushes with the law, but nothing violent...her big claim to fame was being implicated in a prostitution scandal a couple years earlier involving some celebrities and politicians which had made her a darling with the tabloids. She had a part in Barbra Olsen's semi-fictional book, which was cut. Status: Active Aliases: Double Decoy Hair: Red |
Rhiannon Blackwood |
The mother of Enchantrix, Rhiannon is a centuries-old black magic sorceress and archvillainess of terrible power, known across the world for her villainy. She is vicious, cruel, capricious, and insanely powerful, able to cross swords with even The Liberty Squadron and leave them shaken by the experience. She has had a number of children over the years, and from when we were old enough to walk, she ensured that we were all trained in the dark arts, learning enchantment, thaumaturgy, and demonology, among others. But the true horror was that the reason chose to do so was that when they came of age with their powers, she would sacrifice them to the dark gods to steal their life energy and magic to increase her own. Trixie was able to escape from her mother's clutches while she was still a child, but she still bears the scars from her upbringing. And Rhiannon is presumably still looking for her... It appears that even other magic users hate or fear Rhiannon, as Vagabond noted that he was willing to aid Xenos (the "mage killer") since he felt Xenos would have a better chance of taking down Rhiannon. Status: Active Known Relatives
Hair: Auburn Red (presumably) Titles: Queen of the Nightmare Dimension (implied, since Vagabond noted that Trixie was its princess) |
Rhiannon Blackwood's Golems |
According to Trixie, these mindless creations were created centuries ago to do the bidding of her mother. Originally, there were five of them, but all of them were destroyed but one who would evolve to one day become the villain known as Xenos. Status: Deceased/Destroyed See also: Xenos |

New identity of the villain Killbane. See: Blamestorm |
Blood Golems |
Fought the The Liberty Squadron at some point. |
Bloodraven |
A superheroine with magical abiliites related to blood magic, she is the leader of the Zealot witches, and uses a magic sword that is blood-bound to her, so that only she can wield it. Xenos impersonated Bloodraven in order to frame her for the assassination of Archmagister Ithor, the leader of the Revenants. He then left her to be found by them, where they likely killed her in revenge. Status: Presumed Dead |

Curador/Elasticity |
A pair of overconfident heroes who become victims of the demented Doctor Quasi. See: Curador and Elasticity |
Darkmancer |
A crimefighter with darkforce powers, Darkmancer became infamous in Faraday City when hackers somehow broke into his CosFit device and reprogrammed it to change his costume after thirty minutes. Darkmancer had just defeated Power Piranha and was talking to a news team when, to his horror, his costume changed in to an exact replica of Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz! Worse, the nanites repairing the nanomesh fabric continued to do their job, leaving him trapped in an elaborate pink ball gown that constantly regenerated as he tried to tear it off his body. He was eventually able to get it off, but by the time they finally got it off of him, his reputation as a dark and serious crimefighter had taken a beating. At some point (during Darkness Falls), Darkmancer apparently runs afoul of a villainess who transformed him into a sexy blonde bimbo of a superheroine, but why he's chosen to continue dressing in that revealing outfit is yet to be revealed. Suspected by Xenos to be a member of The Kindred. See also: Darkness Falls teaser info! |
Decibelle |
A heroine (presumably with sonic-related powers) mentioned by Meggan McKay who has come out with her own music career and has released some hit singles. Status: Active |
Doctor Malevolence |
A world-threatening, egomaniacal, power-mad despot archvillain who is said to rule over the slave pits of the Manichean Dimension with an iron tentacle, and commands his own army of enforcer demons. At one point he created a female clone of Promethean named Promethea, who he used against the hero until she broke free of his control. He also tried to sink Australia. Status: Active |
Doctor Quasi |
A twisted scientist who delights in transforming his victims in perverse ways. See: Doctor Quasi
Dollface |
A villainess who dresses up in babyish little girl dresses. Rumored to have some metahuman abilities, possibly rapid healing. She uses a pair of pink pistols, and is frequently accompanied by a posse of thugs at her beck and call. Jessie Harber, a stripper at Unmasked, dresses as Dollface. |
Double Decoy |
Former name of Beguiler. See entry above: Beguiler
Dr. Malevolence |
Not to be confused with the better-known world-threatening malefactor Doctor Malevolence, this D-list supervillain thought he could boost his cred by taking the other villain's name and simply change the "Doctor" to "Dr." (Although in his defense, he did have a PhD in Fine Arts.) Unfortunately, he came to the attention of the original name holder, and was evidently unable to properly explain the linguistic nuance, leading to an extremely sudden end. This situation (and ones like it) were what eventually led to the creation of the Villain Registration System. Status: Deceased |
Ethereal Dreamers |
Vagabond noted that Trixie was credited as having slayed this group during her darker period as a villain. It is unknown whether these events have anything to do with her lost aetherknife, or if the naming is simply coincidental. Status: Presumed Dead |
Euphoria |
A nitwit hero with a strong social media presence. See: Euphoria |
Fidget Spinner |
A teen heroine a little older than PG with energy control powers that allowed her to throw energized tornadoes, and to fly by whirling in a vortex-like energy tornado. Marty convinced her to give up being a hero. Status: Inactive (retired) |
Flame and Fortune |
Eunice and Lennie Fox are a husband-and-wife supervillain duo who have lived on Earth for quite a number of years, before the modern heroic age. The pair came from another dimension, and when they arrived, the pair were a regular Bonnie and Clyde, going on a crime spree. (Though they were ultimately caught, sentenced, and served their time.) The couple came from a realm of magic and had unusual appearances and abilities:
resemble his wife. It's possible they also had other artifacts from their shop. As they (apparently) got older and moved into their twilight years, the two went into a working retirement of sorts where they ran a store that sold superhero memorabilia. However, Chase soon discovered this to be a scam, as Eunice was a phoenix fairy, who immolated herself and destroyed their store, only to be reborn in the flames. Lennie then impersonated his wife and pretended to be the one who had died in the fire in an attempt to collect the insurance money and then disappear. Status: Likely incarcerated |
Flamebait |
A possible code name for Caleb Shapiro jokingly suggested by PG. However, it appears to already be taken, as Enchantrix noted that it was already being used by an earth controller hero based out of Terra Haute, making it "a waste of a good hero name." |
Flashback |
A metahuman with "combat precognition" who's able to jump back in time five seconds at a time. |
Fractaldactyl |
An intelligent radioactive mutant pterodactyl villain that Prodigy and Prodigious Girl have tangled with on at least one occasion. |
Freeform |
A shapeshifting hero who has crossed paths with Doctor Quasi. His attempts to shut down Quasi's work experimenting on living tissue are what caused Quasi to experiment on himself, ending disastrously. |
Frosty Joe |
A villain with a freeze ray pistol who frequently manages to get the better of Prodigious Girl, much to Prodigy's disbelief. The future PG looking back on her career has noted that her single greatest nemesis was the Superhero Registration System, but Frosty Joe may come in second. Status: Active Weapons: Freeze ray pistols (3) |
Gamma Kaiju |
A giant monster who fought Golgotha. Marty noted that the fight was visible from the roof of the AGON building. |
Glitterati |
A superheroine who wore bio-armor made to look like she was wearing nothing but a skimpy "battle bikini." Killed in action, but her hidden warp locker storage was discovered by a pair of luckless thieves who get stuck in her armor...and for her dog! A waitress at Unmasked dresses as Glitterati. Status: Deceased See: Nymphobrainiac and Tiara |
Golgotha |
A metahuman who fought the Gamma Kaiju. Marty noted that the fight was visible from the roof of the AGON building. |
Gorgoth the Eviscerator |
Villain responsible for tearing the head off the Statue of Liberty. Implied to have anger management issues. |
Grimdark |
A villain, evidently powerful enough to hold his own against the Liberty Squadron. |
Archmagister Ithor |
The leader of the Revenants, Archmagister Ithor was assassinated by Xenos who was impersonating Bloodraven (the leader of the Zealots) in order to trigger a gang war between them. Status: Deceased |
Keepsake |
A metahuman who seems to use small totem figurines as part of their powers. Prodigy has one of their figurines (in mint condition) at his garage. Caleb was very impressed. |
The Lavender Scare |
An engimatic super with curiously fervent opinions about old sci-fi movies. See: The Lavender Scare |
Lucent |
A hero, presumably deceased, with a street in the city named after them. |
Malefissions |
Triplet villains, all three with radiation-related powers. Prodigy and PG fought them at least once, and gave PG a pretty wicked thrashing. |
Mega-Parakeet Kaiju |
PG mentioned that this gigantic creature was menacing the city on the same day as an alien invasion, and the two problems solved themselves as they clashed.
Show spoiler
Unconfirmed, but this feels like the work of Professor Budgie he alluded to
at the end of the Chinchilla story. |
Milady Melody Malady |
Villain with sonic projection powers who fought PG, who was able to take Melody down with an assist from Blamestorm. Prodigy developed a handheld sonic destabilizer that he claimed would neutralize her powers, but it was ineffective. Status: Inactive (incarcerated) Powers:
Miss Justice |
A former superheroine who was tried and convicted of a break-in gone bad with a couple dead guards. She'd vociferously professed her innocence, but there had been a public uproar about the dangers of heroes run amok. It was one of the big things that had led to the Hero Registration System. Prodigy considers this as a cautionary tale about heroes carelessly leaving DNA evidence around a scene that could be collected and used against them. Status: Inactive (incarcerated) |
Nymphobrainiac |
A pair of luckless thieves who break into a superheroine's hideout and get more than they bargained for. See: Nymphobrainiac and Tiara |

Plutonium Blonde |
A blonde metahuman with radiation based powers. A stripper at Unmasked dresses as Plutonium Blonde. |

Prestigious Girl |
A young heroine. Prodigious Girl, Prestigious Girl, and Prestitigious Girl frequently get each other's messages. Aliases: Tiggy |
Prestitigious Girl |
A young heroine with magical abilities. Dresses like a stage magician's assistant, and when she teleports, it smells like spring flowers. Prodigious Girl, Prestigious Girl, and Prestitigious Girl frequently get each other's messages. Aliases: Presty |
Procyon I |
A raccoon-themed superhero who did a number of good deeds for the city, and was universally beloved by the populace. He had two sidekicks, Kid Procyon and Procyon Lass. After Procyon Lass was killed, Procyon's secret identity as billionaire tycoon Devon Dennings was made public due to Chase's involvement, and he was killed by one of his archenemies. Kid Procyon subsequently took up his mentor's mantle. Status: Deceased |
Procyon II |
After Chase learned the secret identity of the original Procyon and tried to blackmail him to keep it secret, Kid Procyon took issue and publicly exposed their identities, outing Chase as a blackmailer. That didn't work, but the decision led to one of Procyon's archenemies killing him, enraging the populace, to whom he was much beloved. Following his mentor's demise, Kid Procyon took up the mantle of his raccoon-themed mentor, under his now-public identity. |
Procyon Lass |
A sidekick of the original Procyon alongside Kid Procyon, this raccoon-themed heroine was killed in the line of duty. The subsequent insurance investigation by Chase led to him deducing her secret identity, as well as the others. Status: Deceased |
Punchline |
A villainess in Faraday City with a penchant for comedy. Ashlyn, a stripper at Unmasked, dresses as Punchline. |
Ragamuffin |
Hero mentioned on the HeroBurger menu. HeroBurger Menu Item: Ragamuffin |
Red Herring |
A supervillain with a penchant for tricks and deathtraps. Unfortunately, he's also fully committed to living up to his name, so when given a deathtrap offers two options, the seemingly unsafe option is safe 100% of the time. Was apprehended by Enchantrix and Prodigious Girl. Status: Inactive (incarcerated) |
Seven Deadly Sins |
Seven spirits who possessed people, with each spirit taking the form of one of the archetypical seven deadly sins. According to Xenos, they were powerful, but became clumsy and arrogant. They flaunted their power with flagrant disregard of the consequences, thinking themselves invincible and untouchable. Which was true for a long time, until humanity finally caught up with them. Status: Inactive (possibly deceased or imprisoned)
Show spoiler
This reference is a sly nod to an old story I write called "Living in Sin" and it's bonus
chapter, "The Sin Eater," that consisted of seven short stories of these spirits. So I may have just retroactively backdoored that into being a Faraday City story! |
Sinister Syreen Sisters |
Villainesses with sonic powers. |
Sojourner |
Former superhero who was tried and convicted of undisclosed vigilante activities. Chris's father, Stephen Patterson, was the prosecutor on the case. Status: Inactive (incarcerated) |
