Although she was born deaf and mute, Aparna was always a shrewd and perceptive child, with a determined and sometimes impatient nature. But her life changed dramatically the day her metahuman powers ascended, and she gained the ability to control insects. She discovered that she could see and hear through them as well, allowing her to hear and perceive the world in ways she'd never dreamed. Aparna's family, no strangers to the superhero life, supported her decision to become Bhramari, as well as joining Demetria's Sanctuary school, where she met Enchantrix. While there, the unlikely pair became fast friends, and following the destruction of the Sanctuary are now both living with Aparna's family. Although her parents worry that their daughter might be a little reckless in her eagerness to prove herself...

Powers
- Insect Control and Scrying - Mari is able to control up to a swarm of insects at range, and is able to see and hear what they do, making her an expert at surveillance. She can also harrass and distract her opponents by having the insects swarm on them and attack. Controlling and seeing through several insects at once seems to split her concentration.
- Martial Arts - Although not a metahuman power, Mari is an accomplished martial artist.
