Born into villainy as the daughter of the wicked and malevolent archvillain Rhiannon Blackwood, Ren was still just a child when she escaped her mother's cruelty...only to turn around and use the magic she'd been taught against people for her own selfish and corrupt ends. But a chance encounter with the heroine Demetria changed Ren's life forever when Demetria brainwashed her to become a hero. Ren was furious at the violation, but she also secretly fears backsliding and falling back into darkness like her mother. Ren was never given the choice to become a hero, but only time will tell if she has the strength and courage to remain one, or if she will return to her former ways.

Trixie's powers are all magical in nature, owing to her tutelage under her mother. She relies primarily on her teleportation portals and energy blasts, although it's been suggested that she may be capable of even greater feats, including the use of chaos magic.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Ren was born in England, and raised by her mother, Rhiannon Blackwood, a dark sorceress of terrible power. From when she was old enough to walk, Rhiannon ensured that Ren was trained in the dark arts, including enchantment, thaumaturgy, and demonology. (Ren mirthlessly jokes that she's home schooled.) To her horror, Ren would later discover that Rhiannon's motivation for doing this was so that when Ren came of age with her powers, Rhiannon could sacrifice her to the dark gods to steal her life energy and magic to increase her own.
One of Rhiannon's servants took pity on the young Ren, and at ten years old, she found herself alone on the streets of London, fighting to survive. In the years that followed, Ren fully embraced her dark gifts, and was responsible for a number of attacks and atrocities, including a significant one that took place in Amsterdam. (Although Rhiannon was mistakenly given credit.)
Ren soon came to the attention of Demetria, who used her mental reconditioning powers to forcibly rehabilitate the troubled teen. When she later learned what Demetria was done, Ren was shocked and appalled, but even more than that, she fears backsliding to becoming the cruel and vengeful witch she once was. At one point Ren hoped that the Eidetic Charm with its memory-themed magic might be the answer to her problems, but with its destruction, she is left to wonder if she can remain a hero, or if a relapse is inevitable.

Sexuality

It's likely that Ren is bisexual, given that she tends to be flirtatious with both men and women. Some of that might be attributed to her somewhat deceptive nature, as she uses her sexuality as a tool. However, given her difficult upbringing on the streets alone at such a young age, it's possible she's simply learned to take connection where she can find it. Though she did seem to make a genuine pass at Prodigious Girl after intuiting that PG must be attracted to girls given the way that she's often checking out other superheroines.

Contacts & Relations

Ren is good friends with Aparna Patel / Bhramari, and in fact Aparna and her family took Ren in when her home at the Sanctuary was destroyed. The two young women are now roommates, sharing Aparna's bedroom.

Ren enjoys writing fan fiction for the gothic romance series Hexes and Horrors (sometimes derisively referred to by its detractors as "Hexes and Hos" for its occasionally steamy content).
