Prodigy's Garage(s)

"You have a backup garage?"

"Well, yeah. That's why I work out of a cheap-ass garage in the slums rather than an expensive Batcave under stately Wayne manor. They're a hell of a lot easier to replace."

"God, it even smells the same. How many of these places do you have?"

"Not enough to make a habit out of blowing them up."

Prodigy maintains a secret headquarters for himself in a run-down mechanic's garage in a seedy part of the city. Even on the inside it doesn't look like much, although it's well-stocked and has a wide number of items, equipment, and memorabilia that Prodigy has collected (PG would say "hoarded") during his adventures over the years.

As the name suggests, the centerpiece of the garage is the car and the equipment that Prodigy uses to maintain it, along with a hidden exit for the vehicle. Apart from the area around the computer, the rest of the garage is a warren of cluttered and disorganized storage racks filled with items only Prodigy has any clue about.

Prodigy's Other Garages
The current hideout is actually Prodigy's second garage, after the first was destroyed by Harridan during the events of Identity Crisis. Interestingly, the two sites are nearly identical looking, although since this was presumably the backup garage, the equipment and artifacts that were destroyed were presumably more valuable, but this isn't known for certain.

Prodigy has suggested there may be more such locations out there, but where and how many there are (or if they even exist) is still unknown.

Items and Equipment

  • Computer with Prodigy's Metahuman Database, built with information from Superhero Registration. And plugged in to HeroTracker (one of the Metahuman Trackers), where it automatically adjusts mentions of PG and himself to create false trails.)
  • Temporary Blinding Device
  • Chimera's Multiplex Energy Rifle (Mark I) (used by Hissyfit)
  • Force Field Belt (used by Hissyfit)
  • Kalothian Genital Parasites (4: Groucho, Chico, Gummo, Zeppo)
  • VR Training Setup
  • Bionic Incubator
  • Tectonica's Pocket Seismograph
  • Keepsake's Totem Figurine
  • Prodigy's Car - PG is not allowed to drive it.

Sensory & Appearance

At first glance, it appears to be a large messy mechanic's garage with the windows blacked out. There are cluttered work benches with bits and pieces of electronic devices scattered around that Prodigy uses to construct his gadgets . On the floor and along the walls are various canisters covered with prominent warning labels that are strewn haphazardly about, and in one corner is a large video screen wired into a tangle of cables that accesses the computer.

The garage continues into a significant sized storage area that PG has likened to a smaller version of the room from the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, with any number of random-looking items stacked in bafflingly disorganized ways.

The garage has a generally unpleasant aroma that was a mix of dirty motor oil and gasoline along with some pungent chemical smells. However, Prodigy has thoughtfully hung an air freshener over by the computer.

Denizens

Prodigy created this space for his sole personal use, but has begrudgingly allowed Prodigious Girl to use it, although he has been less than forthcoming when it comes to explaining or describing everything inside.

Much to his annoyance, PG has since shared the location with her friends in The Faraday Irregulars, causing Prodigy to complain that his hidden sanctuary has become a hangout for teenagers.

Valuables

Although Prodigious Girl is dismissive of her mentor's belongings since they mostly look like junk, Caleb Shapiro, who is more of a fan of the supers, was quick to note that many of the items are actually recovered from various supers and metahumans. In fact, the villain Xenos went to great lengths to get access to the garage to retrieve a single rare item.

Architecture

In addition to the main floor, there is an open area downstairs underground that Prodigy uses for training and occasional weapons testing, which appears to be soundproofed, but is otherwise unremarkable.

There also seems to be some form of hidden entrance and exit used for the car, since Prodigy wouldn't just have it drive directly out onto the street and draw attention. But if there's an underground tunnel or some other means of egress, it's unclear.

Defenses

The garage's greatest defense is its secret location, although much to Prodigy's annoyance, that seems to be increasingly broadly known. Prodigious Girl and several of The Faraday Irregulars have been there. The body-swapping villain Xenos also found its location.

Although quite messy, the garage is not as derelict as it appears from the outside. Access is gained from a hidden keypad, which opens a reinforced metal door, suggesting that the rest of the walls and blacked-out windows are equally secure.

Whether the garage has any other defenses, automated or otherwise, is unknown.
