A Guide to Faraday CityBack during the events of Identity Crisis, Prodigy gave Prodigious Girl a tablet with dossiers of all the known heroes and villains. Caleb kept it handy, but just think what you could do with that information! (Essentially just a way to announce the creation of this site, so it's basically flash fiction.)

CharadeThis follows on the heels of Identity Crisis: Adventures in Babysitting and features the same bodyswapping antagonist. But it's a standalone story, and has a much different feel since it features regular people and not superheroes, with more of a moody neo-noir vibe. Conceptually, it's based on an old noir movie called "D.O.A." where a guy gets fatally poisoned and only has a couple days to live, and he uses the time to figure out who killed him and solve his own murder. In this story, a guy gets bodyswapped into a stripper's body, but her personality is still in there and getting stronger. But in 24 hours, her personality will fully return, effectively killing him. So, he's got 24 hours to solve his own murder.Genre: Neo-Noir, Crime, Mystery Rating: R Year Published: 2024 Word Count: 73k |
Upcoming / Planned Stories
In addition to the above, I've got a number of other Faraday City stories queued up. These are still under development, so obviously things are subject to change, but I thought you might like a sneak peek! (And holy cow, I really need to get writing...)TatterdemalionThis will be a lead-in to Darkness Falls. The main antagonist will be Doctor Quasi, the bad guy from Plastic Makes Perfect. The story centers on a young married couple who are now estranged, as they previously ran afoul of Doctor Quasi. One of them is a police detective, and he's trying to track Doctor Quasi down since he's doing crazy transformations on people, and is essentially a serial killer. So, this will be kind of a suspense thriller.Genre: Horror, Suspense, Thriller Rating: R Year Published: 2025 target Length: Novella |

Darkness FallsBonus! Check out some preview pics for this story! Bonus! Check out the custom Darkmancer statues!
This will be a novel-length story that tells the story of Darkmancer, a hero who gets transformed into a nearly powerless woman by a villainess named Physique. My plan for this one is to have some really fun gonzo transformations, so I'm really swinging for the fences on this one. It'll be a bit like Identity Crisis in that it'll have elements of adventure/comedy, but since the characters are all adults, I'm planning for it to have explicit sex scenes, and probably a bit of body horror in there for fun, as well. |

Brand Strategy (A Prequel to Darkness Falls)Bonus! Check out some preview pics for this story! This is a novel-length story that's actually 100% done and written. However, I'm waiting to publish it since it's a prequel to Darkness Falls, so I want to get deeper into writing that book first, since the two stories play off each other. It's a bit of a supervillain origin story since it tells the story of one of the supporting villains in Darkness Falls. It's the story of a guy who works for a company who makes him into a superhero, but then instead decide to make him a superheroine. In so doing, they wipe his memories and attempt to reprogram him, but the process doesn't take, and he's left in a woman's body and trying to sort through which memories are real and which are fake, all the while trying to keep the company from figuring out that he's still in there. So, it's kind of a superhero adventure thriller, but also with some very explicit X-rated sex scenes.
Currently, I'm envisioning this as a prequel to Darkness Falls (i.e. published after, although the events take place beforehand), but once I get further into writing Darkness Falls, there's a possibility it might be a prelude (i.e. published beforehand). So, there's a chance this might debut sooner rather than later. We'll see!

Untitled Synergy / Enchantrix storySynergy is one of the supporting characters from Darkness Falls and Brand Strategy, and like the hero in Brand Strategy, had her memory mucked with by the corporation who gave her her metahuman powers. Since Enchantrix is similarly struggling with memory issues, I feel like it'd be a fun team-up to see them together, trying to solve their mutual problem. It's a fun idea, and I've even set up some of this in Identity Crisis: Adventures in Babysitting, but I'm a little worried that this pairing might be a little too similar to the Prodigious Girl/Mantra pairing in the next story. Which is almost got me wondering if I should just lean into it and maybe combine the two ideas so they can play off of each other...

Identity Crisis:CrossoverA crossover story between Prodigious Girl and Mantra, the transgender heroine from the old Ultraverse line of comics. On the Mantra side of the equation, I'm thinking of picking up at some point after their Black September event, so Mantra will have lost her powers. During the course of this story, she'll pick up the mantle again, with PG's help.I've written some test scenes for this, and I have to say that Mantra and PG make for a really fun pair. Mantra tends to be a bit more serious and stoic, and PG is a cut-up who talks a lot. Also, as a friend of mine observed, there's a certain dignity in how Mantra became a woman, since she was put into Eden Blake's body by someone else. Whereas PG really has nobody but herself to blame. :)

A Mosaic of Shattered DreamsIn Identity Crisis: Adventures in Babysitting I name-dropped some shadowy organizations in the Faraday City universe that play in to Prodigious Girl's mysterious origins. In the previous story, we'll learn more about The Kindred, but in this story, we'll learn more about The Mosaic.Genre: Suspense, Thriller Rating: R Year Published: TBD Length: Novella |
Timeline of Faraday City Stories
Not that anybody would know this but me (and now, you!), but I don't always write these stories in chronological order. However, that can get a little crazy, since I like to have the stories reference each other. Or have characters from other stories make appearances. So, I made this diagram to track out all the dependencies. (Which is why it's not a strict timeline with dates.)
