Custom Prodigious Girl Figures and Statues
I am extremely fortunate to have some very creative friends. My friend Sabrina creates custom figures--a skill that is way beyond me--and she surprised me with a custom figure of Prodigious Girl!
Just look at that surprise and delight! :)
She then later did another one for me, that smaller figure on the right. Isn't that awesome? It's honestly kind of crazy to me to have this character that I dreamed up sitting on a shelf next to me as I write.
The figure on the left is kind of interesting, because that's a 3D printed statue of me in costume. While I was at DragonCon, my friend and I stumbled across a booth by a company named Personify 3D. I hopped up on a pedestal while they took a 3D scan of my body, and later in the mail, I got a statue of myself in costume! Very nifty. And here you can see the statue next to me posing next to the 3D computer model. Ain't technology grand?
Custom Darkmancer Statues
Darkness Falls isn't even written yet, but it's been in the queue for so long that I've actually generated a fair bit of material for it. So, based on some of the "sneak peek" material that I shared, Sabrina treated me once again with another custom statue. This time, of Darkmancer! It's based on a Black Canary statue, which Sabrina noted had a strangely, um, "suggestive" look to the model. So, I'll just point out that Darkness Falls will be X-rated with some sex scenes, and let your imagination fill in the rest...
Custom Prodigy Figure
The other figure Sabrina gifted me with was a custom mod to make a Prodigy figure! Isn't it great? Apparently Sabrina was able to make it with pieces on hand...I knew all those 90s comic book design choices would pay off eventually. :) Since it's poseable and she sent me some accessories, I couldn't resist doing a pose capturing the frustration of a mentor stuck on the ground while dealing with a sidekick who can fly. I can practically hear Prodigy yelling at Prodigious Girl about all the things she's doing wrong. :)Lavender Scare 3D Shadow Box
The character of The Lavender Scare is unusual because she started off as a cosplay even before the character was created. So, after my friend Paul wore the costume, for his birthday I surprised him by commissioning cover art featuring the character. But since I wanted to give him a physical gift, I made a 3D version with multiple layers and putting it into a shadow box. (A technique which I absolutely did not come up with, but it makes for a cool presentation!)
