Darien Plain
The easternmost stretch of Tarien's Great Belt is also its largest. Stretching in height from the frigid Frosted Mountains in the north to the steaming Jungles of Thallox in the south, the Darien plain is home to some of Tarien's largest and strangest herds.
In the north, where winter fills the otherwise dry plains with snow and bitter winds sweep down, shaggy furred bison and caribou dominate. As the plains become more temperate, great herds of antelope and wild horses follow the seasonal rains. Furthest south where the Jungles leach the moisture from the air, the plains are hottest and driest. Here, the grasses grow tough and almost bark-lik, trimmed only by the massive teeth of horned and plated dinosaurs.
Most waters to the plains come from the mountains to the north along long, wide Pontrien River that serve its vein of life. None, however, remain navigable much beyond the southern seas that are their terminus and many dry out completely during the dry season.
As there is no reason to travel between The Soulmeliti Forests in the west and The Elanthai Council
in the west, no roads exist in the sepia expanse.
