Tower of Chaos

From its construction to the great explosion that destroyed it, this foreboding tower of aquamarine marble in the Swamps of Malar has rarely been seen by the natives of Tarien. Built by Interrex the Terrible, a great mage from the another realm, the experiments rumored to have occured here caused even the contemporaries of the great wizard to shudder. For a gods fearing man or woman of a civilized age, who has recognized the dangers of magic for what they are, they were unimaginable.

Few, however, can argue the impact that the research conducted within its strangely seamless walls had on Tarien. First, the tower is said to have been erected completely of magical materials, rising from the swamps a whole structure. It has no entrances, no windows, nor even any bricks of which to speak. Secondly, from its laboratories came studies on the motions of planetary objects, the nature of magic and ways to shape both. Indeed, its library was said to better even that of the University of Karradone.

Fortunately for the residents of a magic free Tarien, the tower was destroyed in a massive explosion - likely an experiment taken one step to far. Today there is nothing but a shimmering, rainbow dome surrounding the tower. A few brave adventurers have been rumored to try and break through it. None have found success, though several have found their graves.
