Syntix River
Running roughly from the middle of the a small rise of hills known as The Middens, the Syntix River makes its way westward and southward toward the Eldorian Sea through the chestnuts, oaks, and hickories of the Bongo and Bluebell forests. With a gentle current and high level of silt, its waters tend toward a muddy red. Its lack of depth allows the summer suns to warm it considerably, its waters bath-like in the summer and no cooler than tepid in the winter. With warm waters, it makes the perfect home for catfish, black drum, and even the crocodile in the more brackish areas toward the river's mouth. Its banks are home to zebra, giraffes, and even elephants where it cuts through Galkin Plain while smaller species like black tailed deer and bongo make their homes in more tree lined areas. Humanity has left its mark on the river, as well, with mines of Hillshire dumping runoff from copper and iron smelting operations into its headwaters, streaking the otherwise red river with veins of orange, yellow, and green.
