Jehrin
Jehrin is the largest town in Mennith outside of the city itself. Situated on the Trans-Rheuthengage Highway just across the border from Grennig, the town is, perhaps, both the least and most Mennithite in the Duchy. The Church has found itself losing ground in the town over years, much to the worry of the various Barons tasked with keeping order. The influence of the Brotherhood of Thieves from Grennig and less scrupulous members of the Merchant's Guild have lead to relatively well run, if seedy, underside to the town that has cost more than one baron his head.
On the other side of the coin, however, is fact the right-wing, extremist Order of the Ebonblades was both founded and still has its headquarters in Jehrin. While technically no longer members of the Church of Mennth, these extremists are tolerated within the Grand duchy and often act as if they are above the laws of Tarien, answering only to Mennith, himself. Their justice is swift, typically without trial or due process, leaving those elements of Jehrin’s underworld caught in the open to suffer terrible fates.
