Warshaw

Warshaw is a large town in the south of the Eigerlands.  It acts as the steward of the twin lakes known as The giant's Eye and the Footprint.  It sits on some of the most fertile land in all of the Eigerlands and acts as the continents bread basket.  Though outside of the many well traveled trade routes that wind their way through the Eigerlands the government and ruling families of Warshaw enforce their political power and will by controlling the grain and water at their disposal.  This keeps them in a position of power amongst the great cities of the Stoneport, Helletowne and Westinox.

Government

The royal family of Wardashar rules over all of the lands around the twin lakes and the southern region of the Eigerlands.  The current ruler is Queen Amalia Retranche Wardashaw and she has been in power for over thirty years.  Often referred to as Amalia the Great by her subjects and admirers she appears to rule fairly and is very protective of the region.  She has three children who are vying for the succession rights as she is approaching the age of 70, which as a human, puts her at an older age.
Her children are:
Princess Eldressaria Vitalia Wardashar, human
Princess Lydia Mistletoe Ladalia Wardashar, human
Prince Vestun Ricard Tred Wardashar, human
Her current advisors are:
Viceroy Khandashar Credulun, a human man from the kingdom.

Baron Zark Tang Maker, A Dwarven Man who grew up in Stoneport.

History

Warshaw is one of the last of the old kingdoms.  Outside of the Elven lands of Oraheim, most territory in Tellenheim during the third age have broken down the old royal systems and use parliamentary systems or a rotating great House structure of Government.  Not so in Warshaw, it is one of the last remaining divine right based kingdoms on the continent.  They resist takeovers by dangerous trading companies and the great houses of Penthos by controlling an enormous amount of grain and livestock that is an important food source in time of famine, natural disasters or dangerously long winters.
The Wardashar Royal family has ruled over the southern part of the Eigerlands for over three thousand years reaching back into the second age.  It is said that King Tredward Wardashar the First conclusively defeated the great Elven King Clemanta Occidentia of Quellis to end the Elven human wars before the shard fall.  As the Elven magic waned before the shardfall the humans rallied and used powerful trebuchet and ballista to batter the elven war animals and turn the tide.
Their is a persistent rumor amongst scholars and historians of that age that the Wardashar Family allied with a powerful Bronze dragon to tip the war in their favor, but hard evidence has yet to be uncovered.  The tales of the Bronze dragon known as Halcoranth Voh' Andressar the Star Seer disappear at the beginning of the third age.
