Settlers led by Duke Rostamund of House Caervil arrive in the land and begin to build a colony.
House Malmor is established when Count Rendall refused to acknowlege Duke Rostamund as his superior. Duke Rostamund was unwilling to lead military action and House Malmor was established
House Caervil settlers expand into the west and north of the land. These groups will become, in time House Greendale and House Genlith It soon becomes apparent that while House Greendale is content for a time to remain on good and loyal terms with their neighbour, House Genlith is seeking independence.
House Malmor expands into the mountains north of their land and settlements and mines are established there. Over the next hundred or so years the settlers there become the founders of House Raendor though independence from House Malmor is still a long way away
The first records of House Orloi's existence are noted in this year. Few records exist that definitively show their origin and it is still debated whether they were subordinate to House Malmor ] or to House Caervil Both superior Houses make various attempts to gain tribute from House Orloi but these come to nothing.
Raiders from House Genlith attack settlements on their southern borders with both House Caervil and House Greendale. The raids are met with force and fire but the Wolves of House Genlith are dangerous and swift.
House Raendor is now strong enough militarily and rich enough in essential resources to demand its independence from House Malmor while still agreeing to pay token tributes and oaths of support. Since this provides a useful buffer against the raids of House Genlith, House Malmor is content with the arrangement. The first independent ruler of House Raendor is given the title "Duke" to reflect the military role.
House Greendale sets aside a formal border territory with House Genlith and grants it to one of their subsidiary Houses which will become House Tyaldi. The people of House Tyaldi police and protect their northern border with vigour and ruthless efficiency.
House Kaevil, a cadet line of House Caervil is granted charters to settle and fortify the heartland of the country under their own authority in order to establish a stronger hold there and to deter raids from the north ( House Genlith are still fierce and troublesome). Over the first century of this process the raids become fewer and less successful, and the leaders of House Kaevil become renowned both militarily and diplomatically.
No longer distracted by the potential for raiding on their southern borders, and since no treaties exist with their eastern neighbours, House Genlith mount a series of attacks on House Raendor territories.
This war is hard fought over a ten year period and ends in a very uneasy stalemate when a greater threat to both Houses emerges.
