    The Howling Times

    Raiders from House Genlith attack settlements on their southern borders with both House Caervil and House Greendale.   The raids are met with force and fire but the Wolves of House Genlith are dangerous and swift.

    A New Home
    Founding

    A cadet line of House Caervil is granted land and founds the city of Sildern.   This line will, through good leadership, military prowess and courage in the face of dreadful threats to all of the land eventually rise to pre-eminence and become the royal family of Kaevil

    The Troll Rise
    Era beginning/end

    The first major incursion of Trolls into the land brings horror and warfare. The Houses unite to fight the creatures wherever they are encountered. Keeps and townships are destroyed.     The Dark Years
    Era beginning/end

    This period is characterised by frequent small incursions of Trolls and other dark creatures against the people of the land. Times are hard particularly in the heartlands and in the north and the people get harder in response.     Aldemar I of House Caervil declares the independence of his cadet line and establishes The Royal House of Kaevil

    Aldemar I the leader of House Kaevil is declared King as The Royal House of Kaevil is hailed to be the pre-eminent of the Houses of Kaevil - the land which now bears its name.

    Beginning with an eruption of Trolls in large numbers from mountainous regions across Kaevil this was a war that lasted for decades and decimated large regions of the land.     Reign of Edregard I

    Edregard I took the throne during the Deeper Darkness at the age of 11 years old.   His reign was entirely defined by the struggle against the Trolls and he died without seeing an end to it.
    Originally known as "The Boy King" he had earned, by the end of his life the epithet of "The Warrior King"

    The Horns of Elderan
    Life, Relationship change

    Elderan, Prince of Kaevil was the eldest son of Edregard III , and married to Riala of Genlith   According to rumour she was the lover of Ruthven, Count of Malmor and was betraying the secrets of the royal house to their enemies. This rumour holds that it was the hatred of Ruthven and Elderan that led to the conflict that follows

    The Declaration of the Dawn
    Revolution

    The civil war began due to the ambition of Ruthven, Count of Malmor who desired to expand his territories and had been forbidden to do so by Edregard III .   Ruthven raised his banners alongside House Raendor and House Caervil in opposition of the Royal House.   The remaining Houses, House Tyaldi , House Genlith , House Greendale and House Orloi remained loyal to Edregard

    The Death of Prince Rand
    Life, Death

    Rand, Prince of Kaevil , the second son of Edregard III vanished at this time. Rumours abounded that he had fled the war or turned traitor. These rumours were false. He died of wounds taken in honorable battle and was laid to rest in an unknown tomb with his sword Peacemaker

    The Fall of the Crown

    Edregard III was killed in battle on the fields outside the city of Sildern which was then sacked by the Dawn Alliance. The Oath Keepers retired to their own lands, defeated but with honour.

    Riala disappears from history
    Life, Milestone

    Riala of Genlith , wife to Edregard III 's eldest son Elderan, Prince of Kaevil , vanishes from history at this point. Some say she returned to a distant hermitage to live out her life in penitential self sacrifice
