Adriel sets out from The Low Keep with Inyë as his companion and servant after disagreements with Count Phoitios about his duties to House Genlith
Adriel and Inyë are engaged by Lady Selesma Orloi in Scatha to recover The Five Voices of the Rose from the ruined city of Kalnathan. Along the way they encounter and begin travelling alongside the warrior Chel They recover the book and encounter great danger in that dread city
Adriel and Inyë spend the night in an Inn on the edge of The Ruins of the Royal and encounter a family of murderers and a cursed magical artifact that they must return to the shrine where it is to be kept safely. Along the way they discover the tomb of Rand, Prince of Kaevil
Chel comes under threat from Baron Lokran a foul nobleman of House Malmor who she had rebuffed and maimed some years before. Adriel and Inyë help her seek refuge in the Ash Village in Hrafburg and encounter a nest of ghouls beneath the city. Lokran is killed and Chel escapes the city by sea.
Adriel and Inyë become aware of the conspiracy against the north. Lord Teltandin is murdered and Harvik Lance is revealed as a spy for Count Phoitios After discovering what they can, Adriel and Inyë depart Hrafburg for the north
Adriel and Inyë encounter escaped slaves from the Mines of Raendor, evade a supernatural pursuer and discover the tomb of Erikol, Wolf of the North
Inyë and Adriel return to The Low Keep in Genlith. They unmask the treachery of Dandon, steward to Count Phoitios and uncover a plot to pit House Genlith against House Tyaldi
Inyë and Adriel travel to House Tyaldi to bring word of the plot by House Malmor to Duke Pietr They discover the treachery extends to House Tyaldi and lead a campaign against the foul Lord Osten of House Tyaldi
Adriel and Inyë flee Hrafburg with Kenner and arrive in Greendale Countess Marae greets them briefly but is entertaining an ambassador from House Malmor and sends them discreetly to Oldwater Race to be the guests of Lord Oldthorn and his wife Eileen, Lady Oldthorn While there the settlement is attacked by Trollkin and during the defence, Lord Oldthorn is slain. Rodrik is brought back from his seclusion to stand as steward for Fox, Lord Oldthorn's son until the child can reach majority. The keep is haunted by Burned Men until it is discovered that they are being manifested by Rodrik's guilt and this is revealed. Rodrik goes to make atonement for his guilt and thus banish the Burned Men
Returning to Scatha, Adriel and his companions encounter Lady Selesma Orloi who is furious that Adriel has not returned The Five Voices of the Rose to her. She places a curse upon him that will persist until the book is returned. The curse is of a personal nature.
Count Phoitios of House Genlith suffered a stroke and passed shortly after regaining consciousness and stating his will that Adriel succeed him.
Count Phoitios is laid to rest in the ancestral crypt of the rulers of House Genlith Adriel experiences a vision of The Lord of Sand urging him to renew the faith of the Fallen Gods
The forces of Adriel met House Krennel's heavy guard and lured them from their fortifications. With the help of forces from House Rauder that were unknown to House Krennel the battle was a great victory. Lord Korris was slain by Inyë. While leading a band of scouts from Highwater Tower, Calryk is ambushed by warriors of Cardun. The scouts are massacred but Calryk is taken alive to the dungeons of Cardun.
Adriel, Inyë , Lady Keydis , Mistress Ifanda , Kenner and Aedan swear oaths to each other to bind a ritual together to trap the spirit of Fendrel
A messenger arrives at Highwater Tower with grim news for Commander Nemm - and bearing the ring of Nemm's brother Calryk. The messenger is driven from the tower but Nemm's loyalties are torn.
Elminval, an old warrior of House Krennel and a secret devotee of The Iron Face dies of old age at Esdrun, having lived to see the torch of worship pass to another.
@Adriel and his company are betrayed by Commander Nemm of Highwater Tower but escape before they can be handed over to Commander Satthik of Raendor Aedan is recaptured however and given to Trollkin who carry her into Raendor toward the watchtower at Caradun She is rescued by Lady Keydis and Inyë who pursued the Trollkin, while Adriel accompanied the injured Kenner back to safety. By 24 Highwinter all were reunited at Esdrun
Tunnels are found beneath the mountains leading to Raendor - a dwarf and his foul creations are encountered.
With growing concern over her dreams of darkness seeking Adriel and his companions, Mistress Ifanda sets out from the Low Keep

Overnight on 39th/40th Highwinter, Mistress Ifanda's party are attacked while camping by dark beasts from the forests north of the road. The beasts are driven off after a fierce struggle
Taeyran guides Inyë, Kenner, Áedán, Lady Keydis and Halli to the secret path into the vaults beneath Cardun They destroy the Trolls Heart that is being used there to awaken the slumbering beast beneath the citadel and escape as the Trollkin cast off their mask of servitude that serves no more purpose, and massacre the men of Raendor in the subterranean factory who had mistakenly assumed they had docile beasts to deal with.
Áedán, Halli, Inyë, Lady Keydis and their companions rescue a soldier of Raendor from Trollkin and take him, Deceris, prisoner. They decide to risk the high pass through which Taeyran brought them rather than take the longer easier way through Highshield Pass.
The way is hard going and they are trailed, it seems, by a crow that they suspect is a sehding of the master of Cardun
Taking their rest upon a raised plateau they are confronted by members of the Raven Guard who had been sent out to search for "the elf". By cunning ambush they easily overwhelm the Raven Guard and their hounds.
Adriel, Count of Genlith leads the defence of Highwater Tower against the army from Cardun assisted by Trollkin
The victory is narrowly won but the men of Cardun are routed and retreat
Mistress Ifanda, Alys and Thea arrive at Highwater Tower to be reunited with the count and his companions.

Adriel and his companions take to the field against the forces of Raendor outside Cardun. Lady Keydis leads her irregulars with the dwarf Bildelderikal into the caverns beneath. The dwarf summons the Westing Wyrm to crack the foundations of the the tower.
The army of Genlith triumphs when the forces of the enemy are thrown into disarray. Lady Keydis slays the sorcerer Barakhaz and rescues Taeyran who was held captive there. Haspel of the Irregulars is slain by a wound from a cursed spear wielded by Barakhaz' minion.
Taeyran reunited with the companions. Skog and Kog arrive to meet with Bildelderikal and return with him to Mungrim
The Companions visit Rorig and discover an attempted murder in the village of Raubel During the investigation they stumble across a pool sacred to the Lady of Sanctuary and are whisked back in time by some divine power.
