The Heartland
The land at the heart of Kaevil, the former royal holdings are still unclaimed, inhabited only by scattered lordless settlements. The uneasy peace at the end of The Sundering meant that none of the great Houses would claim it.
It is said to be a haunted and lawless place and most travellers skirt its boundaries.
Many consider the treachery of the Dawn Alliance against The Royal House of Kaevil to have been an act of such depravity as to unleash supernatural retribution upon the land that the royal family once held, to prevent it falling into enemy hands. Regardless of the truth of this it is considered an unlucky and a cursed place, and nothing good seems to prosper within the borders of this virtual wilderness. In a bare century since the fall of Sildern this land has become desolate.
