Maker and Breaker

Maker and Breaker are two rings made by the dwarf Bildelderikal and presented to Lady Keydis in early 1051.

Maker (white gold) has the ability to magically mend any broken item touched by the wearer, Breaker (black gold) has the ability to break any item touched by the wearer.

The dwarf has warned that the enchantments on the rings will not last forever and will end after a few uses

This is a pair of rings created by Bildelderikal of the Dwarves
Maker is a white gold ring, Breaker is of black gold - each bears a single distinct rune but is otherwise unmarked and unornamented
Each bears a unique enchantment that occurs when the wearer of the ring touches something and wills the ring to work its power:

Maker
The wearer can by touching any broken object whose pieces are all present mend that object instantly.
Breaker
The wearer can place the hand bearing the ring on any solid object and cause it to break. Small objects will shatter, larger objects may simply crack deeply.

Neither enchantment affects living matter.

Whenever either ring is used the wearer must make a roll to determine how much of its enchantment is left.



USAGE
Roll 2d6 with the following modifiers

• For each time it has been previously used: -1
• If the object is large or complex: -1
• If the object is magical: -1
  

If the roll is 6 or less then the wearer will instinctively know that there is but a single use left in the ring.
