Onward to Rit Graz

by Sir Arathur Do'yle

Leaving the smoking crater of the Android settlement behind, we headed for Rit Graz. During our journey we took the time to recuperate and do some crafting. After about 3 weeks we spotted a small, walled settlement on the shore, with buildings of Adobe. Several Iruxi could be seen watching us approach. We pulled up to the one dock into town. Leaving the Golden Tadpole of Submergence Taleih, Sir Arathur and Leon approached the wary group of Iruxi. After Taleih introduced us as having come from Rezvinoka they quickly summoned someone who was obviously a leader here. She introduced herself as Rit-Tarap & welcomed us to Rit Graz. She told us tales of the dead rising and harassing them at night. The Undead usually attack for about an hour or two & then leave. They had not heard from the city of Henzporat in some time due to this. She also spoke of a guide named Sindler who could possibly take us to Henzporat. He was resting during the day since he watched for the Undead at night. We took some time to get settled in and to explore the town. We did warn that there should be another ship along with some supplies for us in the next few weeks.
Exploring the small town we quickly learned there was not much of interest to a group of adventurers here. They had some fish to sell, if we wanted. They did not have many significant warriors, with seemingly only the guide Sindler to protect them. We chose to inspect their protective wall. They opened a gate for us so we could do so. The wall facing the west side was very clawed and scratched up. We asked if they had defeated any of the Undead. They had not, but several of the villagers had been killed. The Undead carried them away when they left. Later in the day Sindler found us and discussed the Undead problem with us. He described there was a leader with a "long tongue". We assured him we would deal with the Undead, if he would guide us to Henzporat once they were gone. He was concerned if we were to lose to them that there would now be 6 more Undead to assail Rit Graz. We assured him that we would be fine. He was clearly uncertain we were correct. Sterling lost patience & glared at Sindler, scaring him away. Taleigh ran after him and reassured him. He finally agreed to tell us how to find where he felt the Undead were coming from. He wished us luck and we were on our way!
After a short journey we found the remains of a ship, buried almost to where the deck was at one time. This was the Undead lair Sindler had described. As we approached 4 Undead rose out of the sand to attack! We identified them as 3 Bodaks and a Mohrg. After a pretty quick fight we handily defeated them. Taking 3 corpses back to town (Sterling had disintegrated one) we showed them we had defeated the Undead. They had a ceremony to inter the dead & a modest celebration for our victory. Sindler asked to wait a few days to see that no more Undead showed up. During this time we busied ourselves with helping out the townsfolk, fishing and making notes about the area and the people here. After a few days Sindler approached us to offer to take us to Henzporat. We made preparations, choosing spells & receiving hot weather clothing from the Iruxi. We set out the following morning. After about a week we stopped at an Oasis. It appeared abandoned, but as we headed in we felt the ground tremble. Then 4 Zombie Dragons pulled themselves free of the ground and lurched forward to attack the heroes! The fight was touch and go for a bit, but we finally prevailed. Krolmnite was, thankfully, able to use his spells to save the life of our guide when he would have been killed outright by one of their breath weapons.
