Back to Wrykynn

by Sir Arathur Do'yle

After 2 weeks we made our way back to the city. We went looking for General Nazcan to tell him the good news! He was, obviously, very happy to hear this. He told us the other Aberrations had started fleeing in the last few days. Asking around we found passage back to Stormbreaker Cove on the Foaming Eel. The Ironbound, with the Asmodeans on it, had left some time ago. That evening we were approached at our tent by a priest of Ruthperl. He introduced himself as Saurgouth & said he represented his race. They were impressed we were able to settle the problems here & survive, their main tenet. He told us that we had earned their respect and so they would not be coming after the areas around Rezvinoka. We explained that Fort Barbados might cause problems in the future & should not be associated with us. They were welcome to wipe them out should they feel the need.
After about 2 months travel we found ourselves back at Stormbreaker Cove. Along the way we transferred some magic runes about and Sir Arathur made a Hat of Disguise for Jemaig. The group crafted some potions and whatnot as well. Once we arrived Leon was approached by Tarza Glitterdrop. She had something she wanted to tell the group. Apparently, Brunin had exchanged words with the High Priestess when she was in Stormbreaker Cove. She was very angry, but left seemingly not interested in causing problems with the priests from Rezvinoka. Tarza told us that Stormbreaker had a spy in Fort Barbados. The spy had overheard that the High Priestess had summoned a devil to send after Brunin, along with placing a bounty of thousands of gold on his head. Tarza was hopeful that we could do something to protect Brunin. We immediately agreed, formulating a plan to try to protect him and defeat anyone coming after him. Heading to the Mining Company we spoke with Brunin and convinced him to let us guard him for a few days while he hides out in the basement. He felt it was unlikely anything would come to pass, but agreed to let us watch out for him for a few days.
The first night passed uneventfully, but the 2nd night we detected a hidden creature attempting to sneak into the basement. When it realized it had been detected, a raspy voice told us it only wanted the Dwarf. We advanced towards the voice... As we closed in we managed to surround the creature, even though it was invisible. It became visible when attacking Jemaig. The group then pretty much mauled it... Sir Arathur was able to identify this creature as a Soul Skelm. After about another hour Jezra saw a large figure in black armor, wielding a large sword coming toward the building. She called for it to stop. It said nothing, but continued to advance on the building. She stepped up to attack, calling out to those of us below. We ran to help. Soon we drove the creature off, with it turning into a giant raven to fly away. We healed up and got back into position!
