Arriving at the Quarry, we made our way as stealthily as we could towards the base, approaching from a blind side of the island. Once we got close 907AN asked us to wait briefly while he approached his peers to have them stay out of the fighting. We waited a few minutes for him to get ahead & then proceeded towards the Quarry stealthily. Once we started seeing the Androids coming out of the buildings near the Quarry we attacked! The fight took quite some time but we finally emerged victorious. 907AN led his brethren out of the Quarry. He spoke to us about their intention to infiltrate the city and begin a rebellion. They suggested we retreat to the Magnificent Golden Tadpole of Submergence to watch from safety. When Sir Arathur asked how long this might take, 907AN estimated about about 1 day. They headed toward the city and we went to the sub. We told Captain Fizzleboot about the plan and he placed the sub where we had a good view of the city. About mid-day of the next day we started hearing obvious signs of combat from within the city, gun-fire and the like. After about 3 hours we heard a large explosion. We saw flame blossom from one of the large ships in the harbor. We heard more gunfire from within the city for about another hour. Suddenly we saw the largest ship in the harbor sort of leap out of the water, begin to glow red and then explode in a giant boom & shock wave that knocked many of us off the boat. Krolmnite was knocked especially far into the sea. We all managed to get back to the sub & close the top hatch. Captain Fizzleboot was battered from being tossed in the sub, but otherwise ok. He began getting things ready, while Taleih looked through the periscope. She told us the city had disappeared & water was now rushing into the crater where it had been. Captain Fizzleboot turned the sub away from the whirlpool and gave it full throttle to get us away. It was slow going, but we did manage to pull away. Circling around to the far side of the Island we took some time to perform some repairs on the sub & do some reconnaissance on the Island.
“Flashes of light dance all around the city, punctuated by explosions from time to time. A blast from the side of one warship causes it to list, and begin sinking. The fighting continues for over an hour, smoke rising from multiple areas behind the great wall. Then there is a deep, muffled sound that shakes the very air. As you watch in shock, the huge war ship begins to bulge at the front, glowing red from an internal buildup of searing heat. In an instant, the ship seems to vanish in a blinding light. A wave of warped air rushes toward your group, blasting the outer walls into large plates and beams that sail far from their original structure. The shock wave reaches you with hurricane force.”
“There is little left of the city, a large smoking crater where the waves rush back and forth in defiance of the blastwave. Nothing moves in the distance, and no sounds of battle echo forth.”
After a few days letting the dust settle out of the air we were able to see more of the city, or the crater lake that all that was left of it. There was definitely total destruction. On the following night Sir Arathur received a dream message from a Priest of Zuva. They have not heard from Henzporat in a month or so. They asked if we could check in on the city while you are sailing? It is on the northern continent, deep in the desert. We should seek the port of Rit Graz. We chose to go investigate this lead. The city was actually somewhat near the dome with the threat known as "The Intruder", associated with Undead. Probably somewhere within a few hundred miles. We discussed the possibility of heading for the port of Rit Graz with Captain Fizzleboot. He was concerned about not having enough resources to get there or even to get back to Stormbreaker Cove afterward. Krolmnite offered to create food & water with magic. Sir Arathur suggested that Taleih could include a message to Aaron in her regular communications with instructions from Captain Fizzleboot. These would include what we needed for parts for a special still to process fuel for the sub & we requested that they be sent along with another boat.
