Overland to Stormbreaker Cove

We took some time to rest and heal our wounds before continuing on. Before too long we encountered 4 creatures lying in wait. We attempted to skirt around them but they were having none of it! As we tried to go around them, 5 of them leapt from cover to attack! Sir Arathur was able to identify them as Chuuls. After a moderately dangerous battle we slew 4 of them, with the 5th fleeing. Searching around we found a lair with a small amount of treasure inside. As it was late in the day we decided to just use the lair to rest. We continued on the next morning after an uneventful night. Soon the swamp transitioned to grassland. As we drew closer to Fort Barbatos we began seeing farms & discussed how we wanted to interact with the Chelaxians. We decided it would be best to tell them about the Androids home base & what we knew about it, including how we were captured & escaped. We also decided we should learn what we could about the fate of Brunen, our Dwarven friend. After passing a few more farms we came to the walled fort of Fort Barbatos. We were met by armed guards who called their commander to speak with us. Captain Simnon Imbrex spoke with us for some time regarding the Androids. We explained roughly where the Androids were coming from & that we had destroyed their portal & one of their smaller ships. We also explained we had damaged the large ship. He did tell us that Brunen had disappeared about a year earlier in some mines. He gave us general directions, along an overgrown path.
We decided to head back to Stormbreaker Cove to re-supply. Arriving home, we took some time to craft some more healing potions & transfer some runes around. We then struck back out to find the mines where Brunen had gone missing. We managed to track down the mines without incident. Several outbuildings turned up no clues other than some rotting food & dusty mining equipment. Moving into the mines we explored a bit before encountering some crystalline creatures emerging from the darkness. One of them rushed forward, greatly damaging Sir Arathur before anyone chose to react! Sir Arathur did not know what these creatures were, but he could see what he knew to be a Mothman lurking behind them. After a brief fight we managed to defeat the creatures. Noone was sure what the crystal creatures were.
