About 20 minutes later we were again attacked by some nightmare creature... It was a large creature with a Piranha head, claws and tentacles. Sir Arathur recognized it as a Void Daemon. He called out to his group what it was, that they should use "goodly" damage & that it was constantly displaced. It immediately cast a spell in Daemonic, attempting to cause Leon to "Die"! Leon was un-phased & the fight was on. It quickly became clear this was a very dangerous foe between being hard to hit on top of the displacement. We managed to defeat it, but only with quite a bit of luck, some extremely good punches from Jemaig & Rizadoman saving Brunin as his soul was being ripped out. Thankfully Jemaig killed the creature before it could try again!
The rest of the night passed uneventfully. Brunin was very thankful for our help, obviously. Once morning rolled around Sterling & Rizadoman went to sleep. Sir Arathur and Jemaig cleaned up the worst of the damage from the fight, saving what books could be saved after multiple area spells were cast, before sleeping. Leon and Jezra went to speak with the Mayor & then headed to the tavern. Later that day we gathered again to discuss how we should proceed. Various ideas were floated, including groveling and begging forgiveness from the High Priestess, trying to involve the Rezvinokans to put Fort Barbados in their place, or escorting Brunin back through the portal until this, hopefully, blows over. We decided to move Brunin to a different house in town for a few days. Nothing happened for the next 2 days. On the 3rd day Tarza approached us to let us know that she had heard from the spy in Fort Barbados. Apparently, the Demonic creature had discouraged the High Priestess from continuing her bounty on Brunin. The folks from Fort Barbados had found something in a mine that had caused them to want to open peace talks with both Rezvinoka and Stormbreaker Cove. The spies had also heard that a fleet was coming through the portal from Cheliax. We sent Brunin back to the Mining Company and went to speak with the Mayor. He was surprised to see us, as he was about to request our presence. He told us he was heading to Rezvinoka for some peace talks and wanted our group to escort the delegation. We readily agreed and left 2 days later. We arrived in Rezvinoka 2 weeks later without incident.
We were brought to the Rezvinokan folks brokering the meeting of all parties concerned. We met them, then spent that night in the accommodations provided to us. The delegation from Fort Barbados was expected the following day. The following morning we were summoned to the meeting. After we were seated the delegation from Fort Barbados was brought in & seated. The negotiations began. Barbados wanted a permanent peace agreement between the 3 settlements. The Barbadosans readily volunteered information that the fleet was coming from Cheliax to help defend against the Skarthin. The Rezvinokans had declared that Stormbreaker Cove was under their protection, but they would not do the same with Fort Barbados. After a few hours an agreement was struck and agreed to by all 3 parties. The next day we returned to Stormbreaker Cove, arriving 2 weeks later without incident. Once there we discussed how to proceed. We finally decided to head back to Henzporat and check on how things were going there. 2 months later we arrived at the coastal village of Rit Graz. Those of us who had been here before noticed the town had grown quite a bit, mostly warehousing, but there was a new inn called the Salty Seaview. We looked up our guide from last time, Sindler. He was happy to see us, offering to guide us again if we could wait a few days. We readily agreed, heading to the Salty Seaview to get some rooms while we waited.
After a few days Sindler led us to Henzporat. We spoke with Mayor Rezess, who told us the area had been stable since we were last here. We told her we were happy to hear this and that we would be heading on to visit with the Necromance to ensure all was under control with him as well.
