After resting for the remainder of the day, we continued our trek towards Henzporat. The following day we encountered a large Blue Dragon. She asked us if we had killed her children. Recalling that the Zombie Dragons we had fought had qualities of Blue Dragons we told her we had. She thanked us and flew away. Another week passed uneventfully in this manner. Sindler indicated we were getting close. As we crested a large dune we saw 6 large skeletal creatures turn their bony skulls toward us. It was a pack of Undead Dinosaurs! These creatures seemed overwhelming at first, but Stirling used his spells to great effect to whittle them down while our melee folks did their best to keep them at bay. Krolmnite kept us all breathing. After the fight we spent some time healing up and then continued on. The next 2 days were uneventful.
We finally arrived at Henzporat. It was a large walled city, with gates large enough to allow a Giant through! Sindler rang the entry bell and the doors opened to allow us into the city. We saw that the walls were actually about 50 feet thick! Inside we saw a gorge with a lake in through a pass in the mountains. A large ziggurat dominated the area. We saw caves carved into the cliff walls. This was obviously a very defensible area. We were instructed to wait in some nearby shade. A short time later a group of people returned, led by a male priest of Zuva & a female dressed in fine clothing. They introduced themselves as Rezess, the mayor of the city & the priest as Qatzu. They explained that the person who could communicate with Asaga of Rezvinoka, Ojarta, had disappeared. She had gone west with a contingent to see where the Undead were coming from. She never returned. Subsequently, there were rumors of uncorrupted Iruxi seen at the nearby village of Rit Koh. We told them we would go look for their missing priestess & check out this village. Qatzu lost interest at this point and grunted, heading back towards the Ziggurat. Rezess explained he was out of sorts with the contingent of Turgenak followers who had sought refuge within their walls. They had granted them refuge, begrudgingly. We also told them we had encountered a Blue Dragon on our way here. They told us that was Beszinex & they remembered her from before the domes had gone up, leading us to believe this was indeed a very old Dragon indeed! They arranged some rooms in the cliffsides for us, at what was clearly an Inn. Krolmnite, Leon and Sir Arathur met with Mayor Rezess to ask some questions about how the wall was contructed & what sort of threats would cause the need for it. She said the wall was built over 10,000 years ago & was probably built for some war long ago. In the generations since, they had maintained the wall and used it to protect their community. She felt the followers of Turgenak likely did not know any more, nor did the priests of Zuva. We left her and went to speak with the Turgenak folks. They did not have much information to share regarding the Undead, nor the walls surrounding the settlement. We spent some time that evening resting and enjoying ourselves, for a change. The next morning we awoke refreshed and set out to the West!
Following the remnants of the road, we started towards Rit Koh. The trail skirted along the edge of the mountains. Towards the end of the second day of travel we arrived at a small village of Adobe buildings. We attempted to speak with someone in one of the buildings, but they were clearly scared and just wanted us to go away. We went a ways outside of town and camped for the night. In the morning we entered the town and tried to communicate with them again. The entire village seemed to be working towards crafting crude weapons. Again, it was clear they were afraid to talk to us. We attempted to find out who they were making weapons for, but they would not tell us. They were clearly more afraid of whomever was coercing them than they were willing to accept our help. We eventually decided to leave them be. We searched around & found tracks leading to the West. Following them we found a veritable army of skeletal creatures standing in formation. Luckily, we saw them while they were still far off and before they spotted us. We fell back to discuss our options - attack head on or go around.
