Escape from Android Isle!

by Sir Arathur Do'yle

After a brief, tense passage out of the harbor we found ourselves in open water. We heard a large explosion behind us, followed by smoke in the air. Soon we left the Isle behind with no sign of any pursuit. We course corrected as best we could & figured out a schedule so that we always had someone keeping the ship moving forward. Sir Arathur and Aaron took some time to try to familiarize themselves with the working of the engine & mechanical parts. Also they took stock of spare parts and whatnot. We found some loot and a barrel containing some strange liquid. Some testing showed the liquid was fire retardant. We offered a share of loot to Crezlin but he declined it. We had a long conversation about what to do with the ship while we sailed backed toward Stormbreaker Cove. We discussed whether we should sink it, use it as a trade for Brunor from the Chelaxians or just keep it. We eventually decided on taking the ship back to Stormbreaker Cove. Over the next few days Vadranna cast Comprehend Languages each day to help with learning the Android language. Aaron & Sir Arathur spent some time studying the Alchemical Golem to learn what they could. After a few days land came in sight. Crezlin told us to continue heading south to reach Stormbreaker Cove. He then had us drop him off the shore. He swam the last bit into land. We continued on to the south, keeping far out from the land as we knew we needed to avoid the Chelaxian outpost along the way. After another day or so we noticed a red light beginning to blink on the control panel. After a bit longer the engine cut out. Some investigation revealed that the fuel supply had run out. We had no new fuel so we started making plans of how to get back to shore. It was decided to spend the day preparing spells to assist this process tomorrow and securing the loot. We did notice we were drifting closer to shore, but also back towards the way we came. We dropped the anchor to stop the drift. The rest of the day and night passed uneventfully. The next morning Aaron cast some spells to damage the ship, with Leon smashing things behind him before we left. After Aaron's second spell it became apparent there was a real problem with the ship. Aaron and Leon came running onto deck yelling that the ship was going to explode! Tossing our loot barrel in first, we jumped overboard. Vadranna then cast water walk on us all & we made our way to shore.
Once on shore we headed south once again, following the coast. We decided to head inland once we got out of the swamp, assuming that would not be too close to the Chelaxian outpost. First we had to get through the swamp though! Vadranna used her scouting skills to lead us through. Before long we were brought up short as what appeared at first to be a large mound rose up out of the mud before us & attacked! Sir Arathur recognized this as a Giant Snapping Turtle. After a brief, but vicious battle, the group emerged victorious. We then chose to spend the rest of the day resting and recuperating. The next day as we traveled we found some Iruxi items in what appeared to be a battleground of some sort. As we searched around we found an intact building. We chose to investigate it. Inside we found an Iruxi skeleton laying in a suit of armor upon the ground. As we approached it lurched into motion. Soon, another one joined it along with a large fireball type creature. Vadranna identified the skeletons as Sulfur Zombies & Aaron identified the other as a Roiling Incant. We quickly dropped the Zombies, but the Incant soon rose into the air, exposing our weakness to dealing with ranged creatures. We finally managed to drop it but not before it had dropped most of the party, some several times.
