Assessing the Situation

We decided to fall back to the cave entrance before dressing our wounds, taking the wand making materials and the how-to manual for creating them. Once we had healed up we returned to the room we had just left. We decided to try to track down the 3-armed creature that had fled the last fight. We soon found it trying to gather some papers before obviously fleeing. It used it's teleport ability, but we managed to beat it down before it could get away. The notes we recovered from it were also written in Aklo. They were clearly written by the same creature that wrote the wand crafting manual. We then searched the rest of the complex down. We found a journal written by the creature we had just defeated. The writer's name was Ginel. He had been brought here, along with the 2 muscular creatures, Gus & Gup, that we had recently defeated, by someone named Nihzor. We had heard that name before, associated with one of the bubbles. He wanted to transform the world into Aberrations. The journal spoke about a "Many Heads" he has to pass to go to see Nihzor. There is also a guardian that is rusting and he has no idea how it still works. It was apparent that Nihzor was elsewhere in this complex. We distributed some magic potions we had found & continued further into the complex. Before long we heard some creature(s) ahead speaking Aklo, though in the same voice. It turned out to be a large 9-headed creature. It's roar sowed confusion throughout the group. Then it started swallowing people... While a tough fight we managed it well, coming out victorious! We rested up, healing before moving on.
After a bit more searching we fond the "rusty" creature too. It turned out to be a very large rusty clockwork dragon. It lurched into motion, attacking as we approached. It was hard to hurt, but we eventually managed to take it down. When it was defeated it blew apart into many pieces, piercing through most of the group. We decided to retreat to rest and heal as our casters were low on spells by now. We made our way out of the complex & rested up. The next day we headed back in. We knew we had to be getting close to Nihzor. This could be the day!
