Should we stay or should we go?

by Sir Arathur Do'yle

Continuing to chase the 4-armed automaton spellcaster, we were soon bogged down by it's spells. Eventually it managed to go through a door we could not follow it through and seal itself in. We chose to take this time to drink our water breathing potions and jump overboard. Captain Yosbin Fizzleboot picked us up and we headed back to Stormbreaker Cove. We asked the new cleric in town, Vadranna Naedir , to join us. After some discussion we decided we should probably leave the Androids alone while we headed to try to rescue our Dwarven friend, Brunen. We could always go find them on their boat later on. After a long discussion we then changed our minds, deciding that we should spend some time crafting items before heading back to the Android's ship. However, 1 day later the Iron Beast, the Android ship, appeared on the horizon in the morning and began firing on the town! After sinking the 1 ship in the harbor & damaging several buildings it sailed back over the horizon. Several fires were started and put out. Several lives were lost. Luckily Captain Fizzleboot was able to get his submarine under the water and to safety. We chose to continue with our plan. We spent another day in town to offset the crafting time we had lost.
Setting out the next morning we sailed towards where we had last found the Iron Beast. About half a day out Sir Arathur noticed one of the cargo boxes was slightly different than the rest. Investigating, he found that it was trapped. He managed to disable that trap and another inside the box, saving a liquid trap with a rune from inside the box. There was nothing else in the box. Continuing we soon came to where we expected to find the Iron Beast. There was no sign of it. However, on a small rocky island nearby we saw 2 of the Automatons and 2 humanoid figures. We decided to try to approach stealthily again... It worked just as well as last time, with an Automaton hearing us approach immediately. The fight was on! This fight turned out to be much easier though. We handily beat the 2 Automatons and 2 Androids. Afterward, we found we could not use the Androids rifles. We searched the area, finding spare parts and oils. We took the most interesting bits and dumped the rest in the ocean. We also took one of the Automatons back to the submarine to see if we could figure out a way to power up just the hand or arm to try getting through the doors on the Iron Beast.
