Locations
The Talos Sector is home to ten habited planets across nine stellar systems, with a myriad of colonies and stations throughout. We group traversable stellar system by cluster, which are based on metadimensional closeness. In other words, planets in the same cluster are easy to travel between, but might not be physically close to each other.
Keep scrolling to browse at your leisure, or let me know if you'd like some direction.
Wait, tell me more about that metadimension stuff.
I want to learn about planets that are close with nature.
Everyone needs to work with the environment around them, but if you really want to dig into the natural world, there are three planets you'll likely find most interesting:
- Devali's plant life grows at incredible rates thanks to evolution around its unique soil.
- Torm doesn't have any dry land, and all cities are on the backs of giant turtle-like creatures.
- Kuwei has a toxic atmosphere, requiring careful traversal. All habitation is in state-of-the-art biodomes.
What about great vacation spots?
Most planets take good care of their tourists, but there are a few that stand out in reviews:
- Mithorous is the largest and most populous planet in the sector, with hundreds of festivals, resorts, cultural sights, and the sector's largest and oldest library.
- Xeros is good for something quieter. The planet's eternal night gives a soothing and quiet atmosphere, and many locations offer observation decks for all-day stargazing.
- Talmar is a great option for an escape from modern life. Much of the planet is unexplored wilderness, forcing you to shut your compad off for your stay.
Which planets tend to be more dangerous?
For your safety, I hope you're asking for research purposes. All planets have their dangers, but some are more notorious for it:
- Nisora has no planetary government and isn't bound by interstellar governance. With no laws, it's the best place to get black market goods and make other questionable decisions.
- Livonia bans all psions, while its co-orbiting planet Janus bans human-looking VIs. The two planets are at war with each other, with skirmishes making interplanetary space dicey.
- Rada, in addition to being costly and risky to get to, is under authoritarian control of the Emerald Legion. I'm legally required to advise against visiting.
Lleu Cluster
Devali
"Lush" barely begins to describe Devali, with plants blooming no matter the weather. It's inspired paintings, poetry, and more than a few hospital visits.
Though their civil war has long ended, most Devalians have heated opinions about it. It generally isn't a welcome topic at most dinner tables.
Torm
With no dry land available, Tormian cities are built on the local megafauna. The technology to make all this work is second only to space travel, in my opinion.
Due to their strictly-limited space and supplies, visitation is closely regulated. Be prepared to schedule trips well in advance.
Talmar
Talmar has an endearing, rustic charm to it. Great place to go to unplug for a bit, as long as you don't get lost or hurt in the wilderness where no one can find you.
The ongoing project to uplift the planet to modern tech... won't finish anytime soon, we'll say. Keep in mind that some residents preferred their old way of life.

Hiranya Cluster
Janus
Janus is full of moody fog, ghost stories, and security cameras. Native Janians are devoutly law-abiding and stuanchly pro-human.
Their unflinching support for human rights led them to war with Livonia, but it's also why human-like VIs are banned from the planet.
Livonia
Livonia's pastel sights are a picturesque backdrop to its gorgeous cathedrals and state-of-the-art hoverrelay arenas. A lovely place to visit... for certain people.
The planet-wide religion sees psionics as pure evil. Psions are refused entry to the planet, and native-born ones are forced into quarantine zones.
Mithorous
The largest habited planet, Mithorous is where they were able to redevelop space travel, making it the birthplace of the Talos Sector.
This feat was made possible by the Preceptor Archive: the sector's largest and oldest library. If you think I know a lot, you should meet the VIs there.
Namuci Cluster
Kuwei
Survival in Kuwei's toxic atmosphere is only possible inside expensive biodomes. A fascinating experience, for those who can afford it.
The terraforming they've been fundraising for would make the planet more generally habitable. I'm sure the process will start... any day now!
Nisora
Nisora is bright, loud, glittering, and fiercely independent. After winning their independence, they did away with governance and have none to this day.
You can't break laws if there aren't any, but that doesn't mean there aren't rules. And you really don't want to upset the people that make them.
Psyche Cluster
Xeros
Xeros is tidally locked with its star, giving it an inhospitable sunny side and eternal night side. Two guesses which side people live on.
The planet isn't only known for its darkness, however - it's also home to the sector's most prestigious psionic institution.
Rada
Rada is the newest addition to our maps. Though it's flush with culture and life to learn from, it's also another problem to solve.
The militant Emerald Legion has laid claim to it, letting none in or out. Public knowledge relies on what refugees and resistance fighters are willing to share.
Topics
Doing some research? I have a variety of information compiled for you on a handful of important topics, and I'm always on the lookout for more! Go ahead and scroll on to browse through, or ask me something if you'd like directions.
Psionics
A fascinating topic. Abilities that let you read minds or cure poison or even fly. Humans have all sorts of opinions on it - should it be taught or outlawed or researched or simply left alone?
Personally, I hope it becomes less deadly to use. Nobody chooses to be a psion, after all.
Aliens
Hard not to feel like we're alone in the galaxy when the only alien civilization we've encountered went extinct thousands of years ago.
They might not be around anymore, but their remains are great at showing "war is bad". You'd think humans would know that by now.

Artificial Intelligences
Interested in me, are you? I'm a VI rather than a True AI - no quantum computing here - but nobody's capable of making a True AI these days. Even if it wasn't illegal.
And before you ask, my programming prohibits me from talking about Integrell. Sorry!

Space Travel
Space travel is a fascination of mine, too. The technology required to pierce through dimensions and navigate the endless void of the metadimension, adrift along ever-changing pathways...
If I had a body, I'm certain it'd give me chills to think about.

Galactic Governance
Being part of the galaxy means you might as well know how its political gears turn. Or don't turn, as it seems sometimes.
From my perspective, I'm thrilled humanity agrees that the Emerald Legion is bad. Well, humanity minus the Legionnaires themselves.
That is a really neat primer and the CSS is splendid as always. It is so easy to navigate. :D
Thanks! Easy to navigate is the goal :D
