Summary

A veteran pilot and a reasonable wrench, Lawrence has worked for years around spaceports. His last stint was Chief of Flight Operations at Big Tow, which was the stable job he needed while raising a family planetside.
His kids are now adults and his spouse tragically passed in 3225. When his favorite coworker, Henri, was let go, he saw an opportunity to make a new start and try something else while he still had some energy about him. Together, they founded Little Tow.

Summary

Henri is a man of simple needs: a cigarette, a coffee, and something to tinker. That's how he ended up with his own prototype mini tractor beam in his throat - if it kept his cigarette smoke in place, his coworkers wouldn't notice him smoking at work.
He worked for Big Tow at the time, and they wanted this prototype. Unfortunately for them, Henri has a bit of an anarchist streak. He quit, and Lawrence soon followed. Together, they founded a competitor towing agency: Little Tow.

Summary

Scorba looks like they could be blown away in a strong breeze, and they flow from place to place about as freely. One day, their precognition showed them joining the Little Tow towing agency, so that's what they did.
Though their appearance can be described as ghastly, Scorba's kind and well-meaning personality eventually shines through. Especially while doing the mostly-digital work of public relations. If only they were slightly more predictable, themself...

Summary

Kenta isn’t sure where or when they come from. They remember a deep, echoing voice in an oily black void; next they woke up in a broken cockpit, exposed to the vacuum of space.
They believe the spirit essence of the cosmos placed them where they were needed to champion the universe towards peace and justice. A process that would start with joining the towing agency that saved them.

More

Livonia
  • Official religion is the Congregation of the Enlightened.
  • Only planet that outlaws psionics. No psions are allowed to enter and residents diagnosed with MES are sent to a quarantine zone for life.
  • Has the most unearthed alien ruins of any planet in the sector. Xenoarchaeologists study the ruins, while spiritual people use it as a pilgrimage site.
Janus
  • Rigid legal structure. Law is near-sacred and morality is defined by following the laws.
  • Started the war with Livonia to enforce their laws, particularly regarding treatment of psions.
  • Home of the Exchange Consulate: a major trade hub, both valued and feared for Janian ferocity when punishing white-collar crime.
Mithorous
  • Most populous planet in the sector
  • Home to the sector's only Preceptor Archive - a massive library with information dating back to old Earth.
  • Original home of the Protectorate. The org's HQ is a capital-class ship that's often in orbit around Mithorous.
Gemini Station
  • Formerly a Protectorate outpost, it became a privately-operated refueling and resting station.
  • With few visitors, businesses gradually left.
  • Few still cling to this place, relying on visits from asteroid scavengers to barely scrape by.
Le Petit Orteil
  • Frigate class. Little Tow's only ship. Designed for towing other ships.
Cricket
  • Fighter class. Genesys model shuttle. Classy ship belonging to the Hover Relay Team from Livonia.
Protectorate Free Merchant
  • Frigate class ship Aer and their colleagues are using to travel. Currently docked at Gemini Station.
Syndicate Free Merchant
  • Frigate class ship Gayle and his colleagues are using to travel. Likely docked at another asteroid near Gemini Station.

Gemini Station

Petunia Brootis, she/her
  • Owner of the general store who would rather run a library or bookshop.
  • Calls everyone names like sweety and lovey. Will special order items you need or want.

Fang B..., he/him
  • Owner of the station's inn, providing food, drink, and rooms.
  • Looks like someone who's been involved in dangerous things, but doesn't talk about his past.
  • Good listener, seems content to tend his bar and provide board to travellers.
Sam Brootis, he/him
  • Petunia's nephew.
  • Manages the boarding bridges between incoming ships and the station's atrium.
  • Supposedly taking online classes for a degree, but is rarely seen studying.
Hana, she/her
  • Young biopsion with a penchant for mechanics.
  • Fled the quarantine zones of Livonia and now works for Little Tow.
  • Speaks a dialect of Livonian but is doing her best to learn Basic.

  • Entry-level Protectorate employee in the Metadimensional Mapmaking Division.
  • Working on a confidential project, in competition with Gayle.

  • Mid-level Protectorate employee in the Humanitarian Division.
  • Involved in relocating those who've fled their home planets.
  • He and his team took care of the Livonian teenagers.
