General Summary

Old Myltev Obsession Sweeps Pescaliat
Month 2, Year 934

From the lush forests of the Kelethian Woods to the arid wastes of the Campanel Desert, adventurers have been plunging into dungeons dating back thousands of years to the magocracy of Old Myltev. For centuries the empires of the Elflands and Kiri Clan discouraged any kind of investigation into the civilization responsible for the Ostry Apocalypse, but with their empires now relegated to the history books a new generation has been seeking to piece together the mysteries of this ancient civilization.   The obsession started roughly fifteen years ago when a band of adventurers uncovered a megadungeon beneath Sanjuro City crafted by the archmage Monomakh the Foreseer. Ever since then Sanjuro City's Chusei University has been funding research expeditions all throughout the Northern Territories to learn more about the various archmages and retrieve relics associated with their power. "We're putting a face to the archmages who reshaped the fabric of our reality," Prof. Klute, head of Chusei University, explained. "Rather than seeing this empire as a monolith of arcane power, we're now seeing it for what it really was: a government of various personalities and visions spanning centuries.   Chusei's adventurers prioritize research and preservation when exploring ruins, but other groups have been less careful with their dungeon delving. The Gilded Hecat Guild and Handgun have been accussed of plundering ruins throughout Southern Pescat, selling powerful relics to the highest bidder despite the threat of items falling into the wrong hands. Last year the temple of the Ageless One delivered a sweeping condemnation of any cults worshipping the archmages of Old Myltev, fearful that such worship could resurrect some of the more nefarious mages like Naum Kulikov and Kidma Nikoliakis.   But a new Old Myltevian ruin gets discovered every few months, meaning that the ancient magocracy will continue to intrigue and inspire the adventurers of Pescaliat for years to come.
Marriage Cements Military Alliance Between Gameth and Rakka
Month 6, Year 932

A momentous wedding ceremony occurred in Gameria today, a union between Princess Adelaide Nestorius of Gameth and Bahrmir Hafiz of Rakka. The union was a momentous occasion for Gameth's Queen Stella, who for years has sought to elevate her kingdom's status on the global stage.   The marriage is a sign of a potential realignment in international alliances as Rakka seeks to ally with Gameth to enforce the Edict of Dromire throughout all of Pescaliat. Rakka used to be more closely allied with Sardivelia for much of the 900's, but the tiefling kingdom has sought to distance itself from Sardivelia as their joint investment in the colony of Rel-Moro struggles to turn a profit. In response Sardivelia may try to court favor with the rulers of Despero and the Northern Union in an attempt to compete with Rakka and Gameth's military might, but such a coalition would take years of diplomacy to come to fruition (especially as the Union's leader has shown little interest in being dragged into Southern Pescat affairs).   But for now there's an uneasy peace between the major powers, but it's unclear how far Rakka and Gameth will go to advance their interests. Gameth had concluded a costly war just months prior to the wedding to stabilize their smaller ally Myltev, but it would take just a couple mistakes and diplomatic miscommunications for another conflict to escalate into all-out war.
