Monomakh the Foreseer
An ancient archmage from Old Myltev specialized in the arts of conjuration and telekinetics. For thousands of years his lair was buried and hidden beneath Sanjuro City until adventurers from the Fortunate Five uncovered an entrance to his dungeon in the winter of 918. The party had to retreat and leave one of their own behind, but later they managed to regroup and disable Monomakh's arcane focus (a small push puppet in the shape of a purple tiefling).
Much about Monomakh's life remains a mystery and is currently under investigation by Chusei University, but he appears to have found a way to bind celestials and force them to do his bidding. His spellbook was not recovered by the FF, presumably hidden at the end of a megadungeon found beneath the archmage's laboratory.
