David Arthur works as a clerk at the University Shop and has formed a distinctly poor opinion of a significant percentage of the male students at Missituk University, with some justification, though perhaps not to the degree that David believes. He’s come across more than a few educated children of privilege who behave in a manner that, whilst not outright rude, is definitely condescending towards a mere clerk. As a result, David is willing to believe most of the male students to be capable of anything, and that they deserve anything that happens to them.
