Run by Jenny Aberstrom and popular with younger women, here they dress and cut ladies' hair. The town's barbers, all licensed, once unsuccessfully filed suit to staunch the latter competition.
Jean Fowler is a hairdresser at Miss Jenny’s Beauty Parlor and remembers when the licensed barbers in New Jerusalem tried to get the place shut down. She doesn’t have a very high opinion of them as a result, though she’s careful about where she says that, especially as Jean plans to open her own place in the future, though perhaps not in New Jerusalem itself. As part of that plan, Jean has been studying bookkeeping so that she has at least some of the non-hairdressing skills needed to run her own business.
