Malloy's Timepieces - 205 W Main St
John Malloy, 55, has operated this shop since 1935 and is an avid collector of rare and antique timepieces. He stocks and repairs all types of clocks and watches.
In the shop he once had an an odd coffin-shaped grandfather clock marked with strange hieroglyphs and bearing four hands. He obtained the clock from a private collection broken up for auction. He spent years trying to learn something about the timepiece, to no avail. One day about 15 years ago Malloy opened his shop in the morning only to find the strange clock gone. There was no sign of a break in, and Malloy still can not figure out how thieves got in and out with the heavy clock without leaving a trace.
