Fenner Avery, Tobacconist - 185 W Main St

One of the oldest shops in town, this has been a tobacconists for almost two hundred years. It is currently run by the tobacconist Fenner Avery. This shop deals in imported tobaccos like fine Balkan Sobranje as well as domestic brands. Avery carries a variety of local blends in addition to slightly more exotic choices. He sells pipes, cigars and cigarettes as well, making this shop a place that’s quite popular among the sophisticated and the working class alike. For protection from rowdy youngsters, the traditional wooden Indian stands just inside the front door.   Because of the age of this shop occasionally items can be found here of great antiquity. Recently Fenner found three old Dutch clay churchwardens. He hasn't decided what to ask for them yet, but when he does it will be a very respectable price. The shop proudly displays on one wall its original King's Seal which has been kept pristine by generations of Averys.
