Burbish Strackzacken is the mayor of Gnomingen, a city located inside the crater of an inactive volcano. He is a gnome who takes his job seriously and is devoted to making sure that his citizens are safe and happy.
Burbish has been mayor of Gnomingen for many years now, and during this time he has become well-known throughout the region for his inventiveness when it comes to mechanical gadgets. He loves creating new inventions that can make life easier for those living in Gnomingen or simply add some excitement to their days. Burbish’s most popular invention is the "Gnomecopter" – a small helicopter-like vehicle that allows gnomes to travel around their city quickly and safely.
In addition to being an inventor, Burbish also deeply loves his wife, Quirky. The two have been together since they were young and are still very much in love today. They often spend time together tinkering with various gadgets and playing pranks on one another; it is not uncommon for them to be seen laughing uproariously at some new contraption they’ve thought up together!

For one, Burbish has been secretly engaging in extramarital affairs with Orita for several years now. Knowing the public would not accept this behaviour from their mayor, he's kept it hidden from everyone except those closest to him, namely Quirky, who knows about the affair but chooses to stay quiet out of love for her husband (and also for the love of Orita).
Another secret of Burbish's is that he was once involved in a shady business deal with a few other powerful figures in Gnomingen. It resulted in him making more money than was legally allowed by law and thus putting himself at risk of being charged as a criminal should anyone find out about it - something he desperately wants to avoid due to his current position as mayor.
Finally, Burbish also hides the fact that he suffers from depression, which often leads him into fits of rage or bouts of sadness where he doesn't want anyone around him or even speak with them - something that greatly affects his ability to fulfill his duties as mayor effectively when these episodes occur too frequently or intensely.
