History
The Eye On Dimar was started shortly after the rebellion in Niltun shelter which saw the Council come to power. Using a magical press that had been brought to the shelter by the nobles it was intended to show how different the Council were in terms of transparency and in allowing others to criticise their decisions. It also provided reading practice for those who might not otherwise have bothered maintaining the skill while in the shelter.
When Chirin was resettled the writers and press moved with the rest of the population and continued their work. The news sheet has suffered several setbacks over the years with shortages of writers and, at several points, the Chirin Council nearly banning it, but it has struggled on. For some years it was also seen as little more than a mouthpiece for the Council, but this was turned around when it published stories about the corruption of several council members which helped see them removed from office.
