Dekkin Point
Rocky and windswept, this spit of land in northwest Tarien curls around Dekkin Bay. With little of value found on its narrow shores beyond beach grasses and seagull guano, the area attracted little interest from civilization for thousands of years. In the mid sixth century, however, a homsteader named Vadim Dekkin settled in the area and began hunting the furred seals that roost upon its rocky shores. Their meat helped fill his larder and furs supplement his meager incomes. After his death the growth of population in the nearby town of Portin decimated the seal population until it was outlawed in the mid-seventh century.
