Tallwood
Filled with hardwoods such oak, ash, and birch, the tallwood marks the end of both the great grasslands of the Malpighien Steppes and the Zennonaize Confederacy. As forested areas generally frighten the Zennonaize, they are largely unexplored, seeing little or no human traffic more than a half-days hike north. As such, the forest teems with life from bears and wolves to elk and deer that take advantage of the open spaces between the massive old trees.
Zennonaize would, of course, deny that they fear the forest. Its the residents of the forest that worry them. They would point out that forest also marks the southern border of the White Talon, long rumored to be bastion of hungry trolls. Truth be told, no one has even seen a troll in the woods. Of course, no one stays after dark, either.
