Slaughter House - 400 E Water Street

Though there are some independent cattle and hog butchers in town, this feed-lot and hanging-house supplies most of the town's meats.   Arthur Ellis works at the slaughterhouse, butchering the meat that supplies much of New Jerusalem. He always seems to have a faint odor of blood and offal around him, as if he’s been around so much blood that it’s soaked into his pores. Arthur himself eats very little meat these days, a possible side effect of being around so many dead animals. He also doesn't like to be around the slaughterhouse at night; if someone can get enough alcohol into Arthur, he’ll tell stories about strange things he’s seen lurking around the place at night.   This is also where the 'Water Street Gang' hangs out. The gang is made up of two slightly dimwitted Rottweiler brothers, Ike and Mike, one tough old grey tabby cat, Scratch, and a very intelligent, scheming tuxedo cat, The Boss. The Boss put the gang together about a year ago, and together they have gained quite a reputation for running various extortion and strong arm schemes on dogs and cats throughout the south end of Downtown.
