The Henderson Home - 407 Fish Row

This is a three story brownstone row house built in 1850 from designs by the architect Robert Hatfield with the intention of being a 'practical ordinary city house for practical ordinary city people." It was bought in 1918 by James "Pops" Henderson and his wife Elizabeth "Moms" Henderson. Henderson is a local fisherman of good repute and the owner and captain of The Betty. The Henderson boys, James Jr. and George, were born and raised here.   "Moms" passed away in 1953, and "Pops" began a slow decline without his beloved and idolized wife by his side. To combat this slow drag to the graveyard or the hospital George has recently picked up his family and moved from Detroit, Michigan back to New Jerusalem to live with and help his father out.   George's family - his wife Claire and three daughters Angela Corinne, Jacqueline Brigitte, and Veronica Evangeline are all rather unsure of the move and trying their best to adjust to living on Fish Row after having had a new home in the black suburbs of Detroit.   George is doing his best to keep his family together, safe, and happy, but he often misses his mother and his older brother James Jr., who died in WWII.   Along with the Hendersons live the children's spoiled cats - LaVerne, Maxene, and Patty. The three are a set of solid black triplets named after the Andrews Sisters who have mysterious and rather indifferent attitudes and a distaste for their recent decline in standard of living.
